Likely it may be a Cat 4.

Data from a NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that maximum sustained winds have increased to near 125 mph (205 km/h) with higher gusts. Michael is now a strong category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Some further strengthening is expected overnight and on Wednesday, and Michael is forecast to become a category 4 hurricane before it makes landfall in the Florida Panhandle or the Florida Big Bend area. Weakening is expected after landfall as Michael moves across the southeastern United States.

Officially Official. Cat4 when it slams into the Florida panhandle today. Strongest storm to ever hit the panhandle.

There's a lot of support that was staged in the Carolina's that are now sitting around doing nothing. Hopefully, that'll help them be able to react quickly.

News clip just said the national weather service has moved from advising them to "run" as of late last night to "you're screwed, just stay" this morning.

yeah they are telling everyone your chance to leave has come and gone. No emergency services until the storm passes.

Heard today it’s the 6th strongest Hurricane to ever make land in the USA.

I have a good friend down by Pensacola.

Hope they are going to be ok.

My brother lives in Apalachicola and he's already evacuated to Georgia. He's a marine biologist and runs a lab basically right on the water. The last hurricane that went through there flooded his lab and this storm is much worse so he's not sure if he'll have anything to go back to there.

Smart man. That area is going to get leveled.

We’re at Disney which hopefully is far enough away.

I worked in Panama City from 2006-2014 and still have several friends there. Plus, my son is in Tallahassee. So needless to say, I'm keeping a close eye.

Your fine. I'm on the water and we are just getting some rain. Your 1.5 hours inland. Just enjoy.

Yes. It's going to be rough, but nothing like the coast.

Still, crossing fingers.
