What does the street car accomplish that the bus system didn't? Besides the fact that people can feel hip and urban riding a street car?

It's free, heated and can get you to your car within 10-15 minutes if you parked anywhere around or between the city market and union station and then went somewhere else in that area.

One of the dumber ideas KC has had. But if you like to ride airport shuttles you will like the street car. Hope it doesnt break down. Midtown Main street is not like a hoppin place

This is new since the last time I stayed downtown. Am I reading right that it's free? Anyone here use it? Just doing some planning on a possible trip, and wanted to get an idea on if we could skip driving certain places.

Pic or it didn't happen

But it's pretty rare that I have seen mass murderers or hanging cutlery in them. So Id say you're fine. I take my daughter on them, but she can be a snot sometimes... so sometimes you roll the dice.

LMAO

Seattle's light rail is awesome.

I like the street car. Makes it easier to find parking.

When I am there, my place is in the River Market and I can go most downtown places without paying for a bus. I do take the bus to midtown and the plaza, so yes the bus has purpose too, but I have to pay for it and they don't give change, just ride cards. I heard that the ridekc app handles single fares now so next time I might not have that complaint. the busses aren't horrible either, definitely seen worse. Public transit is great if it is going your way. I supplement with ride share and an electric bike I keep in my condo, and almost never need to rent a car there. I'd bike all the time if the temp is good and I can park it safely. I'd be really bummed if someone cut my lock and stole it so I don't leave it locked up in public much.

Just be aware that the city free park and ride at Grand and 5th by the old steam plant wont be free much longer. The city has hired a private parking manager to start charging by the hour.

Boyfriend works for hospitality management company, so he gets a hefty discount. We can stay at Hotel Phillips for $55 or a little further north at a Hampton Inn in the financial district for $35. Both really close to Grand. Wanting to eat in the Crossroads and go to Legoland/Union Station area. We'll have a 3-year-old, so also want to make sure it's kid friendly.

I stayed at Hotel Phillips upon a recommendation from a few CPe'rs and not disappointed at all. An old style hotel but nice, clean, good location and good food in restaurant.

I would give it a 7-7.5 out of 10

The Mrs and I have stayed there a couple of times. A nice, old style hotel that is not too far to walk to Sprint Center and P&L. I would stay there again.

Went to the Big 12 tournament last night. Parked @ 20th and Main walked the whole way took maybe 10 mins. The toy train would have taken atleast 30.
