I’d be cautious to force an auction style on the group as it’s a lot less friendly to the casual FF fan (was my intention for this league). Anyone whose done one before has an advantage over those who haven’t. But I’m not opposed to organizing a second league that will have an auction style draft and allowing cross registration.

Thoughts? Anyone other than myself, Tye, and Ashhole interested in auction draft if there was a second league?

I was never a fan of auction drafts, to be honest, but I do like them alot more than keeper leagues. If there ends up interest in doing it for a 2nd league, I'd do it but I'd prefer not for the primary.

Ive only done auction style once, very poorly i might add. I'd also be down for a second league to try it out.

I agree that auction drafts aren't easy the first few times. That's why I try one every year with randoms on espn in case I ever have to do one with my pay league. But even with all that practice I never immediately step away from one without several regrets.

Also, regarding a fee. I suggest that anybody that wants to buy in can and anybody that doesn't want to isn't eligible to win the cash. It would go to the highest finisher who paid in. And despite what I said earlier about me being in as long as it's free, I'd probably throw down $5-10 to play.

And yahoo is the best fantasy football platform in my opinion. Especially on a computer (the apps are all pretty even). Although tbh, I haven't used the nfl platform in several years.

Alright, made a few executive decisions…

This league:

• Will be hosted on Yahoo (I will set it up later today and send invites)
• Will be a Standard/snake draft
• Will be free - intending for it to be casual and don’t think small cash buy in will work well if only half the group pays in. Best bet to incentivize participation is massive amounts trash talk including call outs on CP for individuals not setting their roster. If this is a success and we want to renew the league next year, anyone who quits managing their team mid season will not be welcome back.

I also just created a second thread for a second league that will be an auction draft format. I added those who expressed interest in this thread to the sign up. Anyone else is welcome to participate in both leagues if interested.

Ignore the draft date for the time being, it is just a hold until we figure out what works best for everyone.

Got 7/10 teams officially signed up with the league - if any of the other 3 have issues let me know. You should have a join link in your PMs. If you don’t join in the next week or two, I may re-open your spots to ensure we have a full league before we need to draft.

Last I checked, Still only at 7 teams officially signed up in Yahoo. Willing to give it another 7-10 days to allow for folks who may be on summer vacations / busy with work to join.

Update: One of you Ashholes had to back out (not going to name any names…) so we are back to 9. I’ll give it a few more days then post on the main board looking for 3 more teams.

Good news: now have 8 teams registered

Bad news: After the newest team has “otter” in the name, I’m now confused on who owns 3 of the teams because I thought otter was the second one signed up (after me). Doesn’t ultimately matter if we don’t know whose who… I just don’t know who to pester as the only person who hasn’t signed up.
