No, she's still heavily involved in this. They tried to buy her out but her demands were so unrealistic they basically equated to she's not interested in giving up control. And her involvement is pretty overblown as far as it being negative. The game that recently released did huge numbers and those two Fantastic Beasts movies that flopped did so because they were absolutely trash.

The third movie in the Fantastic Beasts series was actually quite good. Shockingly so. Perhaps due to my extremely low expectations.

That is good to know and I can't say that I blame her for not wanting to give up control. This means any new material that comes out is from her and not fan fiction.

That cursed child abomination has her name on it and it's quite possibly one of the worst pieces of fiction I've ever read when you take everything into context.

All I know is, HBO has my full confidence. They rarely miss.

I'm sure they will sex it up in season seven or eight.

That's the only thing that irritates me about most HBO shows. Great story and production but they have to get the banging in there every time.

Mads Mikkelson was an awesome Grindelwald; much more to my mind's eye version of the character.

He made the movie. And really, the first one wasn't half bad. The 2nd one really took some starch out of the series and killed the enthusiasm for a surprisingly strong 3rd installment.

Did they ever make that into a book? I think you could get the written script somewhere but a script isn't a book; there's just a ton left out (or added in) when you have to make a version that's spoken aloud.

It's essentially the worst of all worlds - the lack of visuals that comes from books with the lack of context/internal monologue that comes from movies.

I've never been able to actually watch all of the 2nd one. And yeah, the first one wasn't terrible, just tainted by the 2nd.

I didn't finish it either.

And I really like Jude Law; figured he'd be an awesome Dumbledore. And really I do think he was pretty decent.

It was just a bad movie.

Seems weird do redo it so soon. But I think after GoT it makes sense to do books like this as a series instead. I’ll definitely give it a shot and am interested to see how it is. They will definitely be able to touch on a lot more material this way. It’s going to be weird with all new cast, but obviously the characters are too old to go back to year one at Hogwarts… not to mention probably burnt out and too expensive now.

I thought it was going to be seven seasons? One season per book?

Wish they would just go back to do Tom Riddle climb into voldemort

It is possible some stuff like this is added during the seasons. If it takes off quick more spin offs could happen before the shows over too.

Right. And the first Wizarding War.

A prequel between the FB and HP series just seems like a perfect answer. And Dumbledore could be such a great character. You can see his rise to prominence and can find out how he gets the elderwand and the resurrection stone.

Hell, you can find out if he was really all that great a wizard or if that elderwand just does some serious work for him.

There's a LOT to dig into here and it seems odd to throw all this money and time at a series that's already mostly fleshed out either in movie or book form.
