The Marvels movie is going to bust, and you'll see panic and the cancellation of future projects. Loki has a chance to right the ship, but it's still going to be a bunch of janky multiversal stuff like incorporating old favorites like Cap, Stark, and Natasha while throwing boatloads of cash at those actors to get them to come back and save the brand like the story says.

Honestly, I think expediting the arrival of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Galactus and the Surfer, Venom, Dr. Doom and any other properties not entirely in their control should be priority 1 right now. Better writing and VFX should be 1a, if not 1 itself. Marvel's got work to do, big time.

Loki has been a breath of fresh air. The problem is with Majors and his legal situation. They're likely going to have to pivot now, because it's too risky to bet it all on him, which makes everything happening in Loki probably pointless.

It's a real mess they're in and I highly suggest everybody reads to Variety article just to understand how bad it's gotten for the MCU.

He was awesome in Luke Cage.

And pretty much everything he's ever been in. I know everybody loves Majors, but I think Ali is on another level.

It didn't help that the they square peg - round holed the characters to fit the 'Marvel style' rather than altering the style to fit the characters. For instance Shang Chi shouldn't of been a cgi fest it should of been The Raid MCU version.

The success they have had in phase 4 has been the talent of the actors saving bad scripts and boring movies ie Black Widow.

Ali might actually be good and that would just ruin the fun.

Snipes, OTOH, is just pure cheese and the entire time is dead-ass certain he's giving an Oscar worthy performance.

How did that guy become a legit megastar? I mean he's great in Major League and if you can just ignore the fact that he can barely dribble he's good in White Men Can't Jump. But other than that, he's so damn bad. Passenger 57, Rising Sun, The Art of War, Murder at 1600, Demolition Man, US Marshalls, Money Train.

He just takes himself so damn seriously and it feels like he's the only guy that isn't in on the joke.

He became a megastar because YOU ALWAYS BET ON BLACK, just ask Elizabeth Hurley! (This is a line reference from Passenger 57, for the unitiated).

Ali can be a really kick-ass Blade. That's exciting stuff, though. He'll be different than Snipes but still exciting.

Again, the Simpsons predict the future.

I mean none of his starring roles were classics, but they made decent money at the time... yet I think his self seriousness with Blade is exactly what makes those first two so awesome, Snipes IS Blade

To me he's right there with Bale as a comic hero come to life, they both straight up nailed it by taking it seriously... not Clooney, Kilmer and West hamming it up and tossing out cheesy one liners

ThaVirus 11-04-2023 08:08 AM

Now we’re dogging Kilmer’s Batman?

I can’t take this anymore..

One of my favorite movie lines. I probably quote it IRL once every few months.

Most times it’s a complete non-sequitur.

ThaVirus 11-04-2023 08:17 AM

Huh, I thought Snipes’ filmography would be more impressive.

He’s got Blade, Blade 2, Major League, New Jack City, Undisputed, White Men Can’t Jump, To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Demolition Man- all of which I’d categorize as pretty good to very good. Personally, I liked Blade Trinity and Money Train as well.

Then he has a bunch of forgettable flicks, mostly from the 90s, like Drop Zone, Murder at 1600, Sugar Hill, Passenger 57, US Marshals, The Art of War. Nobody is talking about those movies. You won’t even see them replayed on TNT on a Saturday afternoon.

Kilmer did his best to keep it serious, but the overall movie was still way too campy in hindsight

Might explain the rumors of Renslayer being a Kang variant, but if true that in itself would be a major gamble.

If Majors busts out and is done, I think Dr. Doom has to be their answer. But like I said, they best get those characters incorporated ricky-tick if that's the play.

Wesley Snipes is pretty famous for not enjoying his time as Blade:

Umm. Are you serious? Most of those movies were great from the 90s.

Put him in the intensive gym program for six months with plenty of hgh, bulk him back up ala Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler and he's totally still Blade
