It won't happen, but I'd love Minshew to be our backup just for the memes of him pulling up to Arrowhead in a late 80s Firebird blaring REO Speedwagon. I'd be good with Wentz or Rudolph as our backup (can get the best of them from Andy) other than Minshew if we went the vet route.

I like Milton and Pratt in the draft as later selections if they fall.

KC_Lee 02-09-2024 07:24 AM

My money is on Andy keeping Yo Gabba Gabba Gabbert for another season, with Prince O as the QB3 and some post draft college FA signing as camp fodder.

I'm gonna just throw this one out there. How about Russell Wilson?

We all know he has limitations, but we wouldn't be picking him up to be the man, he just has to be the backup. Getting coached by Andy might help him to light a fire under what remains of his career. Lastly, if we picked him up and made him into a decent QB again it would drive Donkey fans nuts.

Andy is probably going to keep Gabbert, guys. And if we need him, I'm sure he'll find a way to Henne himself to glory.

Yes, it's going to be Gabbert. Don't think there's really even a discussion. He gutted out a win in week 17, that helped keep him here for another year.

ChiTown 02-09-2024 10:09 AM

I suspect Gabbert will be back if he's still interested in collecting a check and playing maybe one game a year (week 18 sit out game). I just don't see why any legit backup that's still in their prime would want to come to KC. Mahomes has missed (I think) 3 games due to injury in his NFL career. That sort of backup screams a dude that is looking to close a career with a ring or two.

Go back to posting GOAT photos.

You are mad that I started a Chiefs related thread?

Get ****ed, muppet.

Look at Andy Reid's past starters in Philly(ancient Garcia) & what he did with Daniel, Henne and Moore here. He can scheme about anyone good enough

Otter 02-09-2024 11:15 AM

Henne has got to be kicking himself for retiring last year. Could have rode the pine all season, experienced another Super Bowl and maybe got another ring and brought home some good bank to throw in the vault to boot.

Agreed. There's a player in the Super Bowl that proves you can get a pretty good QB in the late rounds - even if you're picking last.

I like him, but he probably wouldn't want to come and sit behind Mahomes.

I'd like to start using QB2 as a spot to develop bonus draft resources. So I'd like to either promote from within ala Oladakun or sign a previous high pick and see if Andy can get them back on track.

I think Fitzy had a significantly better arm than Minshew, but overall, yeah. I think Minshew would do well here, but I also think he'll end up elsewhere. Someone mentioned PIT, and I would agree.

Wentz is basically the prototypical rehab project Andy likes to have waiting on the sidelines, imo.

I'd like Mariota

Wentz would be cheap and could benefit from the coaching.

Couch-Potato 02-09-2024 03:05 PM

I've been saying for awhile now that Minshew would be my ideal backup, just love the spunk he brings to the backup position. I think he'd be too expensive though and prefer to play somewhere he's more likely to get some reps.

Pretty sure Bridgewater is retired.

I like Carson Wentz!
