He didn't say the Super Bowl.

He said no team had won three straight.

Yes. Green Bay won the title in 1931. Just like they did in 1929 and 1930. 1931 was their third straight title.

I took KC + money for every playoff game last year.

The famous NFL season of 1931 consisted of these 10 legendary franchises:

Brooklyn Dodgers
Chicago Bears
Chicago Cardinals
Cleveland Indians
Frankford Yellow Jackets
Green Bay Packers
New York Giants
Portsmouth Spartans
Providence Steamrollers
Staten Island Stapletons

Highlighted in bold are the only three teams that have existed since the modern era.
So, Green Bay "threepeated" in a league with 3 legit franchises. Incredible.

The argument isn't how impressive it was. It was about if it was done at all. Which it was, despite a claim to the contrary. Way to miss the point.

And the Cardinals are still active. Learn some NFL history.

Alright, I missed one. Still, a league with 4 legit franchises.
You can say, a team in the 1920s won three titles in a row during an era of football where teams were made up of plumbers, firefighters and parking lot attendands. Professional NFL football starts with the SB era. Everyone knows this.

The thread is about Superbowl odds. He obviously meant Superbowls. No one but you cares about pre 1970 threepeats.

chiefzilla1501 05-30-2024 10:44 AM

Yup kc will have long odds only because of the threepeat. I'm still taking them

Closer to the season, at least last year they had promos closer to the season. For me it was a bonus bet for every game they won. So I'll probabky wait until closer to the season since I don't see those odds changing much

Bro, it is a thread about Super Bowl odds. WTF did you think he meant? :doh!:

Hayneplane 05-30-2024 02:59 PM

Niners are only shorter odds because the NFC bracket is an easier gauntlet to run than the AFC.

Once they get there only fools back against a healthy Mahomes.

I really hope we win the next one against Shanahan again.
