The good is we can get in and out and we have connections to major hubs for most flights.

I was kind of pissed (pun not intended) when I first heard of this, then I saw how they worked. It's actually a great idea. Unless you don't like washing your hands afterwards next to a female (or male for our female bathroom users).

I like boring airports... not sure I've been to many "exciting" airports, except maybe the color tunnel thing in Atlanta that's kind of cool, but overall I just want clear, standard signage inside and out, and an efficient path to and from the gates.

Exactly, and that's why customer satisfaction numbers can be high. Things are relatively quick at a smallish airport like KCI.

Isn't it an H shape anyway? It's literally the most practical shape for an airport. Takes what, 10 minutes if you've got to get to the farthest back corner of B? Sure, if you want to be annoyed it cost a lot that's your prerogative, but complaining it's too boring or pretentious just seems bizarre.

I've flown out of there twice now since the re-do and I prefer how it used to be. Airports don't need to also be Art Museums. They should be utilitarian and efficient.

Also, it took me 40 minutes to get through TSA each time when, before, I would simply walk into my gate and immediately go through TSA.

I think anyone that actually sees the bathrooms prefers them. You get an actual private space that amazingly has floor to ceiling privacy. Gender neutral is bad marketing and I’m guessing people think same bathrooms they are used to.

One nice benefit of the shift toward gender-neutral restrooms is that most of them are in a single-seat setup. While I'm not really shy about my public shitting, I do prefer having a little privacy.
