Dar Dar needs to grow another 3 or 4 inches.

The cut of Word really surprises me. Gun always talked the guy up.

MCF - True, but still is going to be very painful for most of us to watch.

I thought I heard that Dunn had some setback with his knee, but heard he was a killer blocker.

I was glad to see both Anders and Hall make this team, I unfortunitly don't see Hall getting any playing time other then RB. He, like DarDar, looked like he could make something happen on every play.

Chiefnj - That is probably true, but one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. When size matters more then playmaking there are a couple of things wrong. I would personally have taken a short RB like Sanders then I would take a big guy like Moreau.

I actually posed the question as to whether KC would keep 5 DTs and 3 DEs, and they did. Kind of surprising that it happend though. Word wasn't producing in games, I guess.

Q: Who's your nickel back now ?

CUNNINGHAM: "(CB) Patrick Dennis or (CB) William Bartee can step up. We have (CB) Carlton Gray still on the roster and he has a chance to do that. But we're going to pick the best players to go on the field and that's something we've addressed for a year.<BR>

Gotta agree with Morph...Dar Dar surprised me. What good is the height if you can't get separation? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/confused.gif

WOW,

I'll eat crow for Guaranteeing that Dishman wouldn't be cut. I'm surprised, but happy.

I'm also shocked by DadDar, Word, and keeping Gray.

Obviously the coaches know something we don't.

They announced closed practices all week!

Luz
more surprises to come...

Luz,
I also just read about the closed Practices.
I'm in the minority here, but I really think you will see a "surprise" at the HB/FB postion come opening day.

I also look for them to sign a WR this week.

DaKCMan AP 08-27-2000 06:34 PM

GMan - Thanks, that answers my question about Dunn, he is still injured and Waters may have to play his position.

I have a feeling that Gray is only here because of the cap numbers, maybe we can dump him June 1st next offseason.

He did sound a little worried about our D and them not having enough expirience, so we could be in for a long season there.

Fat Homer 08-27-2000 06:43 PM

We couldn't cut Gray - his cap hit would have been nasty. After this season, expect him sent packing!

redbrian 08-27-2000 10:15 PM

I think I'm the most surprised about Jeff Smith. I thought he was a capable backup to all 3 interior O line positions! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/confused.gif

This is my signature!! There are many like it but this one is mine!!

Mike 08-27-2000 10:19 PM

Clint - According to Bob Gretz, Waters (our backup C) has more potential than Smith, so we went with youth and potential over experience (I never liked Smith anyway). Blackshear's our top backup at OG, and Willis is probably a better option than Smith also.
