I may be missing something because I didn't read the comics, but isn't the opening a rip off of 28 Days Later? Guy wakes up in a hospital, sees destruction all around, has a close encounter with zombies, then runs into a couple of survivors, etc.
Don't get me wrong, this show still look like it's going to be incredible, it just seemed like that part of the trailer was a blatant rip off. |

If only this show could be done on HBO.
Then we could see gay zombie porn. (cross thread humor FTW!) |

It's a convenient way to start the story in a post apocalyptic world without actually having to show the apocalypse.

Writer-director Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption,” “The Green Mile,” “The Mist”) says the rumor of an early 13-episode second season order for his AMC zombie series “The Walking Dead” is only a rumor. The filmmaker seems particularly startled at the idea that season two would start production only a month or two after he completes season one. “Shooting in February? As tired as I am right now getting season one through post, I'd rather shoot myself,” Darabont tells Ain't It Cool. The six-episode first season of “Walking Dead” launches Halloween night on AMC. |

Who would you (anyone) cast as the Governor? Doesn't have to be realistic. Any actor in Hollywood is an option.
Danny Trejo? LOL |
Just ordered the compendium after reading my son's volume one. Looks awesome.

I really don't know who they'll get to do it, but if they get to that point, that means it would have had probably about 4 seasons, so I'm all for it. |
Maybe older than the comic guy, but how about Edward James Olmos

Robert Knepper would be perfect if he wasn't so old. Then again, who knows, they might make him an old guy, but he has an 8 year old daughter or something, so who knows. |

User created title sequence. I doubt AMC could top that.

That's a cool opener, but there are a couple spoilers in it. Not sure if they would want that or not.

This is going to be good. I can't make up my mind if I'm looking forward to this or HBO's Game of Thrones more. Probably both equally; it's been a looong time since I looked forward to a show(s) like this (Galactica?).
Speaking of which, I need to go get the 12th graphic novel...... |

Just finished the 12th graphic novel. Strange read - it was boring and interesting all at the same time. Definitely didn't see how it ended coming.....

AMC has been promoting the hell out of this show (no pun intended). It looks really solid.

I'm sort of upset about that guys accent. He's an Englishman trying to use a southern American accent. It doesn't sound good, IMO.

Apparently the pilot has been getting rave reviews all around, even seen some rank it right up there with NOTLD and DOTD in zombie fiction.

I was able to zoom ahead in the TV guide and plug the series recording in. AMCHD I love you.

Watched the premiere. It was pretty good. I didn't really notice any bad accents by the lead. Oh and the final scene is just awesome.

I just watched it as well. I don't have cable so I'd have to wait a day after Halloween to check it out. It looks like the makings of another great AMC series. Lots of cool scenes and well acted. Can't wait to see episode 2.
|
Watched the premier as well and liked it quiet a bit but I've always been a big fan of the zombie genre. I was really surprised by how gory it was for an AMC show. That shit would have gotten an "R" rating in the movie theater.
 If anyone wants to watch: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GWC6J1MW |

‘Walking Dead’ star Andrew Lincoln aims for Gary Cooper in zombie hell Good read. |
One of my students dropped off the first volume this morning for me to read. Finished it at lunch. Very good, and the ending is a killer.

Can't wait for Sunday.

I couldn't resist. I watched it too. It was a good show. I appreciated that it didn't follow the comics 100%. I've read them all so there were no surprises, but it was nice to see the story in a different way. The pace at times seemed a bit slow, but it worked. Afterall, it is a zombie show! I have no complaints about the acting. The only slightly odd accent I heard was from the actorr that plays Shane. Morgan's character was so well done , sad that he won't be back on the show for quite awhie. He did a great job. The rifle scene was amazing. I'm hopeful that it's going to be a good show. I'm definitely stoked for the next episode.
|
I can't believe so many people gave in already. I just want to watch in in HD with my friends.
|
Not to worry. I'll be doing that too!
