On the original message, I think it implies that ghostof suffers from poor self-esteem. Even if you say something that changes his life and leads him to a level of success that is considered very impressive by society's standards, he will still feel so badly about himself that he won't view his life - or your advice - as valuable.

Based on this post, I would predict that ghostof will eventually be found in his basement hanging from a joist.

That's actually a very good point. I just assumed, based on the tenor several of his comments over the months, that he was neg repping me. Perhaps I should put more faith in him.
