You should talk about hopes being dashed? We have owned your crappy thuggish "team" at a rate of 2 to 1 since 1990. When residing in a glass house, one shouldn't throw stones..........btw, if you guys want to practice and/or play in the Coliseum, just call 1 Arrowhead Drive. I will say you're correct on the history of KC,however,I sleep very well at night knowing that KC still holds the upper hand in head-to-head match-ups with the silver and black and that even when your team had Gannon they still couldn't get the job done and Rich set a record for INT's in the biggest game of his career.

Collins seemed to improve dramatically last year in his final 5 of 6 games. His performance in the preseason thus far has been very good. Yes, he still makes mistakes; there seem to be fewer mistakes, however.

I am suggesting history is not necessarily useful in predicting how one person - or one team - will do tomorrow. If you believe history repeats itself then woe to Collins and Oakland by extension. It also means your team will keep breaking your collective hearts if ever they reach the playoffs again. That you can be satisfied with that knowledge… wow. But hey, at least you can sleep at night, knowing your team still holds the upper hand in head-to-head match-ups vs. Oakland, right?

Didn't know they gave out trophies for a head to head play for the selective window of the 90's. Maybe you could post those shiny objects for all to see.

But I understand your dilemma… when you have nothing to show you gotta go with what you got….

But if you want to compare awards for things that really count in football… you are not even in the same league.

Yeah, your team is great! Let's see... since 1990... 15 years, 30 games, 20:10 ratio... so your team is 10 wins ahead, correct? No? Oh... well, maybe that's because you forgot the first 30 years. What was the win loss ratio like from 1960-1989?

I'll remember your advice about glass houses. Did you think that up all by yourself?

Hey, I have seen one....... matter of fact, I have watched both times we were there on live TV. But it has been a long dry spell, one we hope will end soon.

As for the Raiders, you aren't going to get any love here. 4321 :D

They actually have 4. Doug Gabriel can make plays too, especially against the dime cb.

Actually, by my count it's a 22-8 ratio since 1990.

Add that to a 23-34-2 record from 1960 through 1989, and we end up with the Chiefs being 45-42-2 against the Raid ers. Clearly, the Chiefs are the better team.

I guess I'll have to live with the disappointment. On a positive note, though... after I become expert at living with disapointment I can better understand what it means to be a chiefs fan!

That's all there is to it? 3 wins better after 89 games and so "clearly better?" That's good to know! It doesn't matter if your team wins the division title for the next 10 years, or has more playoff wins or Super Bowl wins than than mine. All my team has to do is get three head-to-head wins ahead of your team and they will be "clearly better." Simple.

vailpass 09-01-2005 11:08 AM

CBS Sportsline thinks you should fear the Raiders:

Gridiron Guru: Riding on the QB-go-round

Sep. 1, 2005
Michael Fabiano
Senior Fantasy Writer

Tom Schmidt: Who would be your selection between these three quarterbacks: Marc Bulger, Kerry Collins or Michael Vick?

G.G.: Collins has a chance to be one of the top five quarterbacks in Fantasy Football this season and is the best option. The veteran has a list of weapons that include LaMont Jordan, Randy Moss, Jerry Porter and Ronald Curry at his disposal, and the Raiders will throw the ball downfield a ton.

Furthermore, the defenseless AFC West will offer little resistance to what has a chance to rival the Colts as the best offense in the league. His value falls a bit in leagues that penalize points for interceptions, but overall it's hard to pass on Collins.

BIG_DADDY 09-01-2005 11:08 AM

All I can say is we better beat the Raider if we are going to go anywhere at all. I will be on the field for the game here in Oakland.

Yeah. You got it.

My criteria may change in the future, though.

buddha 09-01-2005 01:39 PM

Fear? Hell no.

The way you attack the Raider's offense is to rush the hell out of Collins. Mr. Happy Feet will start spraying the ball all over the field as he has every other year of his career. If we sit back and play conservatively, we will get carved up.

Our offense should dominate their defense.

Dr. Johnny Fever 09-01-2005 01:53 PM

I only fear the The Raiders may get some on our stadium and I'm not sure if we can clean it off.

Halfcan 09-01-2005 02:06 PM

How did eye patch get so many good rep points in 176 posts? Do we have some closet raider fans lurking around here? I think this needs a full investigation followed by strict banishment and firing squad for anyone giving good rep to raiders. Whats next Chiefs and Bronco fans holding hands and taking long walks together. Osama marrying one of the Bush twins and being George's son in law. Someone restore order in this world.

To think that Tyler Brayton is a player who's going to be helped by the new scheme proves one of three things... A: you don't watch Raider football... B: you don't know squat… or C: all of the above.. which would be more accurate.

Tyler couldn’t cover the ground he was responsible for with a 3/4 alignment… how in the hell is he gonna do well in a 4/3 since he will have more ground to cover.

He is a DE that is “trying” to being converted to a OLB. If I were the chokes I would dump halfback tosses his way and watch him grab some air. He’s a great kid with a big heart and a great motor but IMO he is lost out there.

and if you think that Warrnen Sapp will not be helped by moving back to a position that he has played for years and as a pro bowl player... and also having big Ted Washington playing the middle who always sucks up two o-lineman… then I understand why many knowledgeable football fans usually ignore your tripe.

Whoa...Brayton's not being moved back to end? The Raiders are even more stupid than I had initially believed...

Sapp might be helped, but not enough to make him a force. He sucks.

Collins is still the same QB he has ever been.

The Chiefs team is pretty different. They added key parts. They will improve.

Did Collins get a brain transplant? If so, he will improve.

Seriously, Fock Al Davis. The City of Oakland got FOCKED by him not once, but TWICE. The second time they enjoyed it so much, that they blindly FOCKED the A's in the process by building Mt. Davis in center field. To this day, it has yet to be filled consistently.

I say again, FOCK DAVIS!!! :banghead::mad::cuss:

This act of disrespect is just another display of Al Davis' lack of class.

He can not, for one second in time, put aside his hatred of Lamar and the Chiefs to give a deserving man his due.

I hope he chokes on the grease that drips from his hair.

So far in the Oakland - O'leans game:

Raiderz run kickoff back for a TD.

Called back on a holding penalty.

Raiderz march down the field - 27yd TD to Randy Moss.

Sapp stops NO on 3rd down. Saints punt.

Raiderz put second team in.
