How fitting will it be that the Jets get to the playoffs and "the Savior" takes a 10-6 team and makes them worse?
If the Jets make the playoffs with a 1st year headcoach, there will be alot of people eating crow on the Chiefsplanet... Many people here thought "the Savior" would take us to the playoffs and make us better... Boy were we stupid! |

**** Denver. I will not root for their playoff chances.
if Cinci wins: need NE win over Tenn Miami win over NYJ Oak win over NYJ if Denver wins: need NE win over Tenn SF win over Denver Pitt win over Cinci looks just about even to me. |
If Denver wins.
Monday Night NYJ @ Mia <-- Helps 17) Pitt @ Cin <-- MUST HAPPEN if no help. Jack @ KC <-- MUST HAPPEN Oak @ NYJ <-- Helps NE @ Ten <-- MUST HAPPEN SF @ Den <-- MUST HAPPEN if no help. ----------------------------------------------------------------- If Cincinatti wins. Monday Night NYJ @ Mia <-- MUST HAPPEN 17) Jack @ KC <-- MUST HAPPEN Oak @ NYJ <-- MUST HAPPEN NE @ Ten <-- MUST HAPPEN |
If Denver beats Cincy, does Denver have to lose next week for us to get in?
|
so basically in either scenario- Oakland must win one more game?

No, they only MUST win if Cinci beats Denver right now. Under the Denver wins situation, the Oakland game only helps our cause. |
if denver wins
I think pitt has to beat cinci even if the jets lose out and SF wins a 3-way tie between Denver, KC, and Cinci would leave KC out... I think (AFC record?) Go Bengals |

Division tiebreakers are applied first. Then the Conference record. |
I can't root for the Broncos. I just can't.

Hadn't thought of that... If both Cinci AND the Jets lose out, there are ways we could end up either: 5. KC 6. Denver or 5. Tenn 6. KC I like that A LOT. |

Only against ours. So they would be seeded higher than us. But we HAVE to be seeded higher than Denver because division record is more important than conference record according to NFL tiebreaker rules. RULES FOR WILDCARD TIEBREAKER: Three or More Clubs (Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.) 1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants. 2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.) 3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. 4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. 5. Strength of victory. 6. Strength of schedule. 7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. 8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. 9. Best net points in conference games. 10. Best net points in all games. 11. Best net touchdowns in all games. 12. Coin toss |

If this were any other type of BB, I'd agree with you. We're barking up a very big tree here. But it's not like the tree doesn't exist, and this IS a CHIEFS Bulletin Board. I will keep the hope alive until the math says stop. :p |
ok thanks.... but i'm still rooting for the bengals.

Things are getting clearer and clearer. Tomorrow night is the point of no return. If the Jets lose, we have a lot of outs. Like drawing to an open ended straight flush, but only one card to come. Not likely, but HUGE if it hits.
If Miami wins Monday week 17) Pitt @ Cin <-- Need this and/or Oakland Win Jack @ KC <-- MUST HAPPEN Oak @ NYJ <-- Need this and/or Pitt Win NE @ Ten <-- MUST HAPPEN SF @ Den <-- Need this if either Cin or Jets win -------------------------------------------------------------- If NYJ win on Monday week 17) Pitt @ Cin <-- MUST HAPPEN Jack @ KC <-- MUST HAPPEN NE @ Ten <-- MUST HAPPEN SF @ Den <-- MUST HAPPEN |

this can't be right Denver can clinch a wildcard spot and not hurt the Chief at all Pitsburgh can only finish 8-8 thus not affecting the Chiefs at 9-7 Buffalo con only finish 8-8 thus not affecting the Chiefs at 9-7 However the Jets need to lose both games and the Bengals need to lose both games ...a tall order for Oakland to beat NY but not so tall for cinci to lose to Pitsburgh |
IF N.Y. JETS BEAT MIAMI
Kansas City can clinch a playoff berth with: * A win and a Cincinnati loss or tie and a Denver loss and a Tennessee loss or tie |
more than likely the road that leads to a dead end

You post bogus news stories, you bump year old threads for no good reason, and you're basically a douche.
Goodbye. CPiggy will eradicate you from my existence. And Simplex continues to earn my eternal gratitude. |
Still too early to tell.
A Win in Chokeland. Still have Dungver twice and they are beat up.... SD at home. Chokeland at home. If we don't Win the division a WC is not likely. We will be on the road either way. |
