Which the hell would Chad Johnson want to come play for the shitty ass Chiefs?

OnTheWarpath15 02-01-2008 01:29 PM

I'm sure this is typical WPI horseshit, but even if something was in the works....

His age doesn't concern me in the least. What we'd have to give to get him is the concern.

He has a lot of years left, great WR's can play effectively into their mid-late 30's.

Getting offensive help would be great, but giving up offensive players to get him seems to be spinning the wheels.

I agree that he has skills, but to me I cant see bringing poison in to a locker room that needs a cleaning to begin with.I mean how many teams in the nfl would he be a number 1 reciever on? Not this one.

28? I think not.Ok lets see...Not Dallas,St.louis,New England,Houston,New Orleans...hmmm well that only leaves 27.Damn.

He's said HE doesn't want the BENGALS.

He'd be the #1 receiver on every team in the league shy of Dallas and New England.

From what I've seen he doesn't take plays off and gives 100% out on the field.

But his age would be an issue with me. We don't need 30 year old recievers to re-build a team around.

What about this extension signed in 2006? Doesn't that make him untradeable because the signing bonus cap hit that Cincinati would have to take?

No he doesn't watch his games from this year, he was definetely the 2nd best WR on that team, constantly slowing up on routes and dropping balls. I watch the Bengals almost every week because they are on where I am. CJ is good but this year his numbers could of been insane if he would of played 100% the last 1/2 of the season. TJ is better IMO. Even if the Bengals get rid of him they will still have TJ and probably the best 3rd WR in the league when he's not in trouble, and that is Chris Henry, that guy is a head case but a heck of an athlete and player.

#1 on 30 other teams?Maybe for the first game, and thats about it.

That's funny, the other 3 teams you mentioned he'd easily be the #1 guy

Torry Holt and Andre Johnson can't stay healthy, and even if they are it's debatable as to who is better.

New Orleans? Are you kidding?

I think we can all agree that he's heads and shoulders better than Horn and Colston.

Wow, I cant beleive people are complaing about getting Chad Johnson. He is a top 5 maybe even top 3 receiver in the league. His touchdown antics are the only thing he really does that ticks people off. Him, Bowe, Gonzo, and LJ would be a great offense. Also that would be way more talent than team that DV put together.

Sure-Oz 02-01-2008 03:07 PM

No way we trade Gonzo, where are people getting this, the same place gochiefs is?

Barret 02-01-2008 05:21 PM

In Response to Goatse's prediction.

Could this be a draft day type decision? Meaning the Bengals trade their #1 pick at the 9th position for the Chiefs #1 pick at lets say the 5th pick. In the trade we get Chad Johnson?

Could this also be part of the "big draft day news" that the Erroneous one was talking about earlier? They are both from the same source of WPI.

Some people here were wanting to trade down for value. Would we not get value for that type of trade?

Micjones 02-01-2008 05:29 PM

I'd love for Johnson to join this team (at the right price).

Marco Polo 02-01-2008 05:36 PM

I'll take Chad Johnson, the number 9 pick and a 3rd rounder for our pick!

He needs 4 more years of that consistent play before I put him in the same category as 85.

I agree. He MIGHT be. He has the talent.

I just want to see several more years of 1200 yards/10+ TD's before I put him in that class.

Brock 02-01-2008 06:05 PM

I was comparing their first 2 years in the league. Never mind that Colston is already performing to Johnson's level.

And I was comparing their first 2 FULL years in the league.

Of course Colston's numbers would look better than CJ's.....he only started 3 games in 2001.

I'm not arguing his talent. I'd just like to see him do it consistently before I put him in the class of elite WR's.

Too many times, a guy looks great early, then flames out. Not saying Colston is that guy, but he needs to prove to me he's not.

I like Colston, but I would rather have a guy with Chad's speed as a deep threat to balance with Bowe as a big, possession receiver.

He's done it two years straight. I'd like to know who these other guys you're talking about are who put up numbers like Colston did and then flamed out.

Considering that the Dolphins won all of one game this year, I'm not sure why KC or any other team would be ruled-out, Parcells or no Parcells. If he'll play there, he'll play anywhere.

So, the 1-15 Dolphins are going to be Super Bowl contenders in 08 simply because they hired Bill Parcells? That is laughable. They have almost no talent whatoever. If Chad wants to play for the Dolphins and their rookie HC, then I think anything is possible.

Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Monday that the club has agreed to terms with seven Reserve/Future Free Agents. The list of players who agreed to terms of two-year contracts include: K Billy Cundiff, S Erick Harris, DT T.J. Jackson, CB Chad Johnson, T Joe Lobdell, K Nick Novak and G Rob Smith. As per club policy, no further terms of the agreements were announced.

Johnson (5-9, 194) entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Minnesota in 2007. He attended training camp with the Vikings, but was released prior to the start of the regular season and assigned to the practice squad. He spent seven weeks on Minnesota’s practice squad and joined the N.Y. Giants developmental team for one postseason contest in 2007. Johnson spent his first two collegiate campaigns at Texas Tech before transferring to Northwestern State (LA). He did not see action with Northwestern State, but appeared in 18 contests at Texas Tech. He recorded 70 tackles and three INTs for the Red Raiders and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team following the 2003 campaign. Johnson prepped at Evangel High School in Shreveport, Louisiana.
