But if we give Iranians shit for electing a murdering kidnapper we are racists. Face it Frankie, you are being a hypocrite.

I don't care how expensive groceries are, when a country willingly elects a real life criminal (not a bumper sticker criminal like Bush) then they are subject to ridicule from the rest of the world.

First of all, America has been a country for longer than 150 years. I mean, for real? Less than 150 years?

Secondly, we didn't just arrive as barbarians, we're an off-shoot of Britain, where Britons lived as early as the 4th century BC.

And here again, you show yourself a dumbass. "stereotyping" is not on the same page as racism. Never have I said anything about the race of people, but the nations, customs and listed specific groups, govt, and linked terrorist acts for which I've drawn my conclusions.

It has nothing to do with the color of skin, it has everything to do with so many Iranians acting like assholes the past 30+ years of my life, including those sending shape charges and EFPs into Iraq to kill American soldiers. I have never seen you denounce those actions.

You have a point here, but rather a weak one. My cry of racism was not toward you but to those who think that other people are inferrior to them because they might wash their anal holes instead of wiping it.

As for the election, when you are only allowed a small group of filtered candidates you "elect" the one who is a relative unknown who is promising economical reforms, and whose name is not Rafsanjani. As for him being a murdering kidnapper, I don't know if he is, because, just like you I have not seen any proof of that allegation.

No I haven't. But I grew up with Iranians, have a vast number of Iranian friends both there and in the U.S. who I'm in contact with. I have close friends and relatives that are frequently traveling back and forth and there are Iranian books, literature and magazines that I still enjoy.

Try again.

So, and perhaps you've answered this question before, but what have the Iranian people contributed to global society in the last 500 years?

Iowanian 03-13-2008 02:05 PM

You're not a dumbass because you're a foreigner.

I'm guessing its genetic, the result of an accident, possibly a fall from an elevated position onto the soft spot on your cranium, or exposure to harmful chemicals during conception.

Allow me to help, Donger...They DID kidnap some British sailors in international waters, and their president denied the extermination of millions of Jews....and then there was that whole, Pesky "nuke Israel off the map" thing...

I'm actually curious. Every time Iranian contributions to society are mentioned, it's always 2300 BCE, for example.

Get back to me the next time a Greek routinely bombards the board with "hey look, we invented pita bread" almost as often as a greek terrorist group funded by Athen...oh. Colleges are big fans of "the greek system"....

Then there is that tiny event that happens every 4 years, including this summer in China called....the Olympics......
and grecco roman wrestling, the hypocrattic oath every American doctor recites, Corinthian architecture, Plato, Aristotle, Mythology, fables, theater...all of which provide entertainment to Americans every day.

I ate a shredded beef Gyro the other day.

Its not like the Greeks don't have some smack coming. I lived in a dorm with 2 of them...they were fat, smelly and the butt of many, many jokes. I think Greeks are known for doubling up on other dudes almost as much as persian men. I think all of those wars between the two were really about sexual tension.

Greece was never a target of Bush/Cheney saber rattling with the blind support of uninformed idiots like you. I do this BECAUSE of idiots like you and not to spite you. Not only do I worry about the innocents there (including folks I know) but I do my part to point out the idiocy that led to the Iraq bloody mess (with the support of idiots like you) and that a worse mess than even Iraq is not benefitial to us. I know this stuff transcends the boundaries of you comprehension, but there is a majority of open minded posters here who may be interested and might benefit from my little attempts to humanize the people you hold in violent contempt. And before you throw this terrorist accusation, show me one Iranian terrorist,... ever. Better yet, Iranian-Americans are one of the largest "foreign" groups in America. Have you ever heard of any significant Iranian Mafia? Why is that? That speaks to the cultural level of those people. Doesn't it?

All of this is the Greeks' contribution in the LAST 500 YEARS? Again, my friend , your cerebral limitations let you down. Donger's question was about the last 500 years. But if you want to get a little history education let me try to simplify it. You talk about Democracy but know nothing of this:
http://chris.pirillo.com/2006/08/16/...-human-rights/.
And while you are at it you might want to check out on whose scientists, philosophers and literature pretty much saved humanity from devolving while Europe was festering in the dark ages and Europeans died in hordes from deseases attributed to dumping their shit in their streets and streams. They call them Islamic Scientists, but guess where most of that was happening.

No Novel Prizes, as far as I can tell.

So, again, what have the Iranians done to contribute to world society recently?

Oh, it goes on here in America even today. There were a few cases recently. It's even in our early history with the Pilgrims. You can tell a lot about a people by the amount of and type of laws they have. The Puritans had hundreds of laws for such a simple settlement. But if you look at the case load from then they had trouble with bestiality, incest, babies conceived out of wedlock and adultery. In fact a 14 year old boy was hung for doing it with five animals including a turkey.

I am getting confused on why any of this shit matters? Iranians or Americans, a person is a ****ing person. But I forget, we must WIN! Winning is all that matters. GO AMERICA, were up 304 to 2!!!! YAYZ!! Same goes for the other 'team' though, who gives a shit if 'they' made the first animation? It wasnt even actual Iranians, it was their ancestors, of which a great majority are our ancestors. It isnt like the same god damn tribes have always lived there. By that logic we should keep score on all things the indians did before we got here, since we now live on the same land they once did, obviously what the accomplished in the past should be considered an accomplishment for us in the present!

Rausch 03-13-2008 06:59 PM

While I understand that everyone in Iran isn't as ****ing untarded as their fearless leader I also think it's important to note that we don't have a card-carrying KKK member in the white house either.

This nation has supported terrorists that killed our enemies. We've tried to assassinate leaders and political figures. Our government is not innocent.

On the other hand, even during the cold war, I can't remember a president stating that we need to whipe someone off the map. That we should do so.

The opinions of the people in a nation are completely irrelevant if they aren't willing to
force their government to mirror them...

Being a successful and "one of the most educated" communities in the U.S. is not an achievement for you? You have to research this yourself. How about reading on Omid Kordestan, Senior Vice President of Google's Global Sales and Business Development. Or how about this guy?: http://www.achievement.org/autodoc/page/omi0bio-1

Born there. Moved here after HS. Really I look at it as a lucky situation and a gift from life. I can pick the best values of both cultures; toss the worst and enjoy jokes, literature, music, food, traditions etc. equally from two different countries. Makes for double the enjoyment of life. That's a gift I have always underlined for my son who was born here to Iranian born parents. Whereas I consider myself 50-50 Iranian-American culturally he is perhaps 30-70. His (future) kids will be 100% American, I guess. It's a fascinating process to observe, really. But then I'm easily fascinated.

As for Greeks and inventing democracy; I just thought I would add that Plato saw it as one of the weakest forms of government. Which is true, it is a rather pathetic limp dick of a governement, but oh well.

Geez, lighten up. Just because you have ties to terrorists organizations doesn't mean your a bad person. Look at Obama, people seem to like him.

Those are Americans, are they not?

Not by birth or upbringing.

I asked you about Iranians, not Americans of Iranian origin. I'm well aware of what this country offers to those blessed enough to become American.

So, again, what have Iranians living in Iran done for the world over the last 500+ years?

That's a gift I have always underlined for my son who was born here to Iranian born parents. Whereas I consider myself 50-50 Iranian-American culturally he is perhaps 30-70. His (future) kids will be 100% American, I guess. It's a fascinating process to observe, really. But then I'm easily fascinated.

I'm doing some math here. Did you help the Shah load his solid gold toilet on the plane?

So you are disqualifying Iranians who assert themselves when given a chance. That's not a tribute to their culture? When political climate inhibits their ability to make a difference they are scum of the earth. I get it.

No, I'm saying that Americans of many national origins have contributed much to society.

What have Iranians contributed recently? How far back does your excuse of political climate inhibiting their ability to make a difference go back?

I came here before the Shah was deposed. But he had many gold things, but i doubt he had gold toilets. That's actually a Saudi concept. Do your homework my man. :)

We seem to be in a circle here. Hopefully we'll get a chance to discuss this face to face. Right now I don't exactly know what you want.

It's quite simple: Americans of Iranian birth aren't Iranians.

You and I have disagreed on this notion before. So let's not go there again. All I say is a light doesn't come on in their heads the minute they get their certificate of citizenship here. They don't instantly get smarter or more talented or less lazy.

Iowanian 03-14-2008 02:32 PM

Don't waste logic on that dumbass, donger.

Don't worry Iowanian. I'm sure there are pretty good Rectal Surgeons in Iowa City who can fix that burning sensation.

No, I think I have longer than 10 years, so if that is the case, then I will just hold off on them for a while. Besides, isnt Obama going to win? Dont you guys think he is a terrorist or something? I would just get a good job or something wouldnt I?
