So cultured hip-hop fans (which the list creator probably is) can't stand the arrogant asshole, while the suburban mainstream kids made him seem like a god.

So he's an asshole granted. But are we talking about rapping skills, personality or quality of songs? I personally thought the list was based on rapping skills. I don't think Nelly is that awful as far as skill goes. There are alot worse.

Cowboy Troy!?

Molitoth 06-16-2008 03:08 PM

This is like ranking the porn industry's "stinkiest butthole".

I agree he isn't the worst but I was just saying that probably had a lot to do with why he made the list. All these lists have a little bias in them. He's hated by a lot of people for his beef with KRS. I'm sure that solidified his place on the list.

I am wondering why the beastie boys didn't make the list. Fun band, white, and played some rock, but i wouldn't call any of them good rappers. Any kind of really pop rap pretty much sucks. Wu tang, slim shady, tupac, the roots, fugees, kanye west, and i heard atmosphere the other day it was pretty good. I try to get into the new shit but damn that old school gangsta was off the chain in the 90's. I would also like to say that if you can't understand the words like krazy bone and twister you should be considered shitty

Your kidding right?? Paul's Boutique and Licensed to Ill are considered landmark hip-hop albums.

Shitty rap, in my world....is a compliment, because it puts you ahead of all the pathetically lame "real" rap "musicians."

;)

JMHO

I seen the Beastie Boys 3 times in concert. Awesome all 3 times. I still bump them alot. One of my fav songs in the world is Jimmy James.

Yeah, the beasties kick ass.

Sabotage is still one of my favorites. (along with many others, of course)

Demonpenz 06-17-2008 07:58 AM

hell look at my avatar. I love the beastie boys, but they have some very very groanable lyrics and they aren't very good at actually rapping. They are good at keeping it real and had some sweet beats.

little jacob 06-17-2008 08:49 AM

seems like rap is dead. in the 80s it was all fresh, in the 90s it was a different look at another culture. now its just about how rich someone is or what they are driving or how many women they get. there are a few real people out there today but no one is really doing anything.
