I missed the first two minutes of the interview. I don't think Herm sounded that bad from the part I heard.

Why?

Because he said everything that needed to be said about Gonzalez?

He wasn't traded.

He'll be on the practice field on Wednesday, and play against the Titans.

He's a Chief.

What other question is pertinent at that point?

I can't wait to see him leave either, but FFS.

The media is asking questions that are better answered by Peterson and Gonzalez.

Chiefnj2 10-14-2008 02:44 PM

Everyone is at fault.
- Tony re-upped knowing Herm was the coach.

- Herm is incompetent and screwed up not getting Tony his 3 yards at home against Denver.

- Carl screwed up by not getting a deal done.

Sure-Oz 10-14-2008 02:45 PM

So herm and Tony don't like each other now?? Sounds like it

He's pretty much worthless here though, he may help our young new QB at best....wonder if we can trade him around draft time? I guess he is a chief for life...

FringeNC 10-14-2008 02:48 PM

Appears that the best possible scenario is playing out...

Complete disarray at Arrowhead. Clark is going to have to clean house.

FAX 10-14-2008 02:52 PM

This is actually playing out pretty well for the fans. The true Herm might well be exposed over the coming weeks. This presser was a peek at that person. It will be pretty darn flustrating for him when the most popular player in the locker room has publicly pushed the women and children out of the way to the lifeboats. And, if Herm pops, it puts additional pressure on Clark to put down the Brie and do something.

ziggysocki 10-14-2008 02:53 PM

Who is the Clark guy everyone keeps talking about? Does he have something to do with the decision making of the Chiefs? Could someone maybe post a link to a pic of the guy? I keep hearing the name, but it doesn't mean too much.

Yeah, and is Carl trying to create disarray? He almost had to trade Tony and DIDN'T. I'm sorry -- there is just no way Carl and Herm get along, or Tony would have been traded. Things just have to be crazy behind the scenes.

Dayze 10-14-2008 02:53 PM

Clark is too busy sizing up his approach shot on a short Par 5, where he managed to pull out a 310yd drive. Damnit people, if he sets himself up nicely he'll have an eagle chance.

Priorties people...priorities.

given the situation, I wonder if this will be Tony's last season; retire etc.

If I were him, I would just call it quits after the season.

This place amazes me.

Constant bashing of players on OTHER teams that are outspoken, T.O., Chad Johnson, etc - yet when a player acts like a professional and doesn't wage his battles through the media, he's a "yes man?"

STILL waiting for an answer...

Except he said virtually none of those things. That was all interpreted. The press asked "Will you talk to Tony about this?" - and he simply said no because he was trying to end the conversation so he could get the conversation back on the game. He doesn't want every young player on the team talking about "why doesn't Tony want to be here?" this week rather than "how do we beat Tennessee?". This is also why Belichick gives short answers - he doesn't want to get drawn into feeding a story line that becomes a distraction.
