I loved Witten. Would have taken him with any of our fifths. Great edge rusher from a BCS conference. |

We are not going to sign anyone....maybe a FB or some guy to play a different position.

Is Joe Pawelek too small to play ILB?

Chargers sign Stefan Johnson
Tampa Bay signs Jevan Snead |
Great, I'd have loved to have Stafon Johnson, he's gonna make it.

http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/p/201...ee-agents.html This is the link to NEPatriotsDraft. They seems to do a very good job every year keeping up on the UDFA signings.
|
You just know that the Broncos stole Gresham right from between Pioli's fingers. :D
|
KC's got to look good to quite a few position groups. Especially ILB, NT, OL, WR, and possibly QB.

Cowboys with a great pick up: Matt Nichols, QB, Eastern Washington
|
Perriloux signed to the Vikings, not Raiders. Apparently someone was giving false info to nepatriotsdraft
|
The Vikings always seem to do really well in UDFA.
|
Corrections abound. Stafon Johnson to the Titans, actually. LeGarraette Blount still unsigned.
|
Mizzou alert! WR Jerred Perry to San Fan, DT Jaron Baston to Denver.

Updated with corrections

There's a lot of misinformation out there right now.
Now hearing Nichols to Raiders and Jarrett Brown to 49ers, which would make more sense. |
According to that NE site, Browns - Bengals - CHIEFS - Redskins are the only teams left with no signings at this time.
You guys didn't sneak off and rehire Carl Peterson, did you? |
nepatriots.com was super reliable for years. Its probably the fault of people posting the link on message boards that the site is getting a lot of bad info from anonymous people.
|
Every year posters get pissed about KC not signing this UDFA, and get all excited about UDFA's that they sign. The bottom line is that 90 percent of the UDFA's are going to end up in some arena league 2-3 years from now.
There's a reason these guys don't get drafted...only a VERY small few work out. Posted via Mobile Device |
Here I'll post some for you...
Baltimore Mike McLaughlin (LB Boston College), Curtis Steele (RB Memphis), Morgan Cox (S Tennessee), Prince Miller (CB Georgia), Josh Morris (DB Weber St.) Buffalo John Destin (CB Tulsa), Namaan Roosevelt (WR Buffalo), Donald Jones (WR Youngstown State), Joique Bell (RB Wayne State) Denver Clint Gresham (LS Texas Christian), Nathan Overbay (TE Eastern Washington), Jaron Baston (DT Missouri) |
LeGarrette Blount signed with the 49ers.
|
There are typically 2-3 Probowl type UDFA's each year....according to Wikipedia

Jeremy Horne - WR, UMass

So... the Chiefs had a full two rounds of nothing to do but call Priority Free Agents. I'm waiting to see the results of that head start.

This Tony Washington shit is an endless source of comedy in an otherwise awful day. It's like watching someone trip over their own feet on your way to the gallows

That Horne pick up is decent. Size speed guys are always good targets in UDFA
|
Being the Right Tackle for the local football team will be a great ice-breaker when he has to go door to door as a Sex Offender in his new neighborhood though.

Another kicker, apparently the only position Pioli can evaluate, that and guys from Boston.

A camp kicker; exciting!

The Seahawks haul is pretty crazy:
James Brindley, FS, Utah State (5-10, 196) Marcus Brown, CB, Arkansas State (6-1, 195) Kyle Burkhart, OT, Southern Miss. (6-4, 293) Jeff Byers, C, USC (6-3, 301) Reggie Carter, OLB, UCLA (6-0, 238) Patrick Devenny, TE, Colorado (6-3, 239) Kevin Dixon, ILB, Troy (6-2, 257) DeMarcus Granger, NT, Oklahoma (6-2, 332) Quintin Hancock, WR, Tennessee (6-2, 211) Will Harris, FS, USC (6-0, 204) Adrian Martinez, C, Colorado State (6-3, 317) Joe Pawelek, ILB, Baylor (6-2, 237) Jacob Phillips, OT, Belhaven (MS) (6-6, 299) Josh Pinkard, CB, USC (6-1, 214) Rob Rose, DE, Ohio State (6-4, 294) |
13. Andrew Lewis
College: Oklahoma State Height/Weight: 6-4, 290 Lewis is a fifth-year player who will be a three-year starter in 2009. He has started at both left guard and center. He needs to get stronger, but he moves well and plays smart. |
Andrew Lewis:
Strengths: Athletic lineman who can play both center and guard. Quick off the ball and into his blocks. Gets to the second level, can run and block in space. Long arms, plays with leverage and gets some push. Technically proficient. Good in combination blocks. Scrappy and competes. Quick into his pass sets. Displays good balance, mirrors & slides well and can recover when initially beaten. Ideal fit for a zone-blocking scheme. Weaknesses: Not huge and doesn't have the frame to add much weight. Not powerful; more of a position/seal guy, though not what you would call a liability. Can be driven back by top power DTs. Projection: Smart, versatile lineman should be chosen in the middle rounds. Needs some seasoning, but has the tools to develop into a starter down the road. Snaps lefty, a rarity. http://cdsdraft.com/profile.php?id=2410 Also a character guy, Lowe's senior class award guy, from Joplin, MO. |
