For what it's worth, I shoot fireworks (professionally) on the 4th, so I haven't been around. Thanks to Buck and H5N1 for the appropriate usage of the infraction function.

Bans have been made permanent, IP bans are in place where appropriate.

i don't know about profile messages, but it blocks out rep messages from ignored users completely...

it might ignore profile comments too, i don't know...

also, DaFace must have it disabled, but there is an option in vBB to allow users to disable visitor messages.

ffvb won't hide them. These are notations that are left after a comment has been deleted, for some reason only a soft delete is allowed on the profile page. I suppose having the option to shut the messages off entirely would be an improvement, but I hate to see one person **** it up for everyone.

PS: All that deleted crap only shows up for you and not the visitor to your profile.

I may have to do some digging on the visitor messages options. I find other boards where there SHOULD be an option in our UserCP to turn them off, but I can't for the life of me figure out where it is. It may be that we have a modified template in there that may need to be manually updated for software.

We were down in Centennial, so yeah. And you are correct - it did a good job of sucking pretty bad.

It's certainly not the preferred mode of operation (it makes a hell of a mess to shoot through plastic), but when it's raining and you have no other choice, they'll go right through without a problem.

I'd have to do some math that I'm too lazy to do tonight, but I can tell you that a 6" shell takes about 4 seconds from being lit to burst and travels about 600 feet in the air during that time (obviously losing velocity as it climbs). Someone else might be able to figure that quicker than I could.

Na, you were in there too. I was just looking at the log of who gave him the infractions that initiated a temp ban.

Ok, I thought the "Spam" infraction was necessary for the multiple bumped skip threads.

I don't like doing anything like that but thought it was very appropriate to stop the situation from continuing on.

Eh, frankly they're pretty worthless overall. I was really referring to the idea that rapid-fire infractions to get someone banned are typically strongly frowned upon, but were appropriate in this case.

The infractions worked!

They were what we thought they were!

That would be the average fps for a 6 inch shell. I'm sure it starts out around 250-300 fps and slows around 1.5 fps for each foot of travel.

Pretty close. I went ahead and ran the calculations and came up with an initial velocity of somewhere around 214 ft/sec, or around 146 mph.
