Are you sure? Brass brought in Jones who has gotten the lions share of the carries. And they also spent a high 2nd round pick on McCluster. And when McCluster is in the game, we are seeing him at RB... which is where he was a game breaker at Ole Miss... and not at slot receiver where we all thought we were going to see him. Do you really think the brass wants to keep their expensive shiny new toy in storage? |

What I don't understand is how this is a blatent misuse of Charles.
It's 2 games into the season. He's received over 10 touches each game. The team is 2-0. Thomas Jones is also a pretty good back, not Charles, but pretty good. It's not like Jackie Battle is getting carries over JC. It's not some conspiracy to keep Charles out of the game. There's no vendetta like some want to proclaim. |
[QUOTE=Coogs;7025110]I saw this one comming. Check out post #45
If this happens I hope BCD shits on Pioli's desk as he promised.:D |
Its a process
|
We can't even have a 2-0 start without the reeruned KC media trying to stir up shit.

Charles is acting like a little kid who isn't getting his way.
Grow up dude. |

What if that pick is parlayed into getting a franchise QB to go along with the rest of the pieces that are being assembled into a pretty decent team? Make no mistake about it McCluster is a damn good RB. Charles is too. But there isn't room for two of the same type back, and McCluster is the one Pioli brought in and Charles is the one Herm brought in. Just sayin'. |
If he's really worried about his carries when the team is winning games, then maybe the benching as an educational tool (which I don't actually think is happening) might not be the wrong move. I've always been lead to believe that that was part of the reason DJ had to sit, to motivate him to learn to play within the scheme and stop going into business for himself and that's exactly the same message they've worked so hard to get across to Bowe over the last year, with the "stats only matter if you're winning" conversation.
And I've never actually heard Charles say anything that makes me think he's not a team player above all else. |

If we become 2-8 and Jones is STILL getting majority of the carries, bitch then! |

We are a running team (forced to by Cassel's lack of talent), it is a long season and there are going to plenty of carries to go around. Do I agree totally with JCs' use through two games? No. But, he will get his touches... It's a 16 game sked, soon to be 18, and this is how the NFL is built now... people run out two or three backs out there. They are still trying to figure out how to use Run DMC in this offense, but his touches are going to come from all over. This idea that JC will be as effective with 300 plus touches is totally unfounded... I can promise you, as the season wears on...and the 33 year-old Thomas Jones starts to wear down (did you see him at the end of the year with the jets?), JC will be getting more and more carries... and hopefully leading us in a playoff push. |
Quote:
I'm kinda glad I don't live in KC... |
no...
I bet he's worried that his "lack of touches" is because he's a player needing a new contract... and he wants to go out and put up CJ numbers so he can get his $25M... |
RB's have a very small window to make their money...
Charles wants to make his money. |
Hopefully we are "losing" him so we can trade him for a QB of some sort.
|
Almost sounds like some LJ rubbed off on him, huh?

I think the biggest reason Charles has so few carries is because this offense can't sustain any type of drive.

Just a thought but...It can be hard to spread out carries when we go 3-out almost every drive!

I am as mad about the lack of touches for Charles as anyone...
but Thomas Jones was great on Sunday if you ask me... He ran very hard and he's a great player... |

Although I do expect to see more screens at some point. |
The 2-0 argument really irks me.
If this team was 2-0 and the offense was clicking, you'd all have a point. It could be claimed that we're winning BECAUSE of the decision to limit JC. But that's not the case. The offense is stagnant, and our best player is getting 12 touches a game. We're not winning because of this decision, we're winning in spite of it. |
LJ didn't have to worry about getting his carries.
He had to worry about the sheep who listen to kc sports radio. |
What channel is this guy on?

Exactly. And McCluster is a hell of a good RB as well, which is where he is mostly playing... not so much at slot receiver. The hen house is a bit crowded. . |

Spoke with players via text. Not Charles.

I don't mind the role splitting as much as I think they have it backwards...
I don't know...we're 2-0...and neither of these backs are going to do much until Cassel makes other teams start respecting our passing game... and that isn't happening right now...so I'm just happy our defense is playing so well. |
Apparently Carthon went out of his way to MF Charles after picking up a 3rd down conversion - and Charles was "despondent and distraught."
This according to players. |
Says that Mo Carthon was yelling at Charles up and down the sideline and went out of his way to embarrass Jamaal Charles.
Says after that, Jamaal Charles sat by himself and didn't talk to coaches and teammates. |

The offense isn't clicking because the QB sucks. The run game actually has been pretty good so far.
I don't know why this is even an issue to be honest. |

Somehow Nick Wright has tied this with McKinley committing suicide.
|
Ugh.
Apparently, Charles was upset he was coming off the field, and Carthon said (paraphrasing) "Your a backup RB and you have no right to get upset, because your a backup. Backups come off the field." |

Making a pretty good point about how Cassel is treated differently than the rest of the team.

As do I right now. |
wait. a coach yelled at a player at practice? no ****ing way.

If any of this is true Haley should be canned. If JC asked to be traded and is being yelled at for wanting the ball then Haley should be canned.
|
Gee, I wonder why Carthon has been punted out of his coordinator jobs by player mutinies.

BTW, does anyone have a link to this week's TV coverage maps? That 506 link doesn't work today.
Thanks. |

JFC that guy is annoying. How do you guys listen to him?
I am not talking about what he is saying I am talking about his voice and his delivery. |

Dude's done nothing but perform at an elite level, and be professional while losing his touches - and gets treated like shit by the coaching staff - according to other players. Meanwhile, Cassel can yell and scream at the staff, play like shit, and has the coaching staff blaming WR's for his shitty throws. Sounds like JC was dressed down pretty roughly. |

The run blocking is fine, especially since the Chiefs are consistently facing 8 men in the box, daring Cassel to throw on them. If The QB could consistently throw the ball effectively, the rushing numbers would be much, much higher. Again, I haven't seen anything in the rush blocking that has me concerned in the least. The pass blocking was very good against Cleveland as well. |

I don't like the fact Cassel sucks...and I don't like the fact Charles isn't getting 70% of the touches in the running game...
but we're 2-0... DJ is playing like an all-pro... Flowers is playing like a DPOY... and our defense looks great... and really...our most talented defender (Berry) has been our biggest liability so far... Imagine in a year or two when we REALLY mature... I like our foundation... I'd love to see us make a play for Vick in the offseason but I doubt it happens. |

The Chiefs on the other hand, wanna do the RBBC. Haley loves Thomas Jones more than anyone on this team it seems like and he's favored over Charles. Not getting Charles the ball until the 3rd or 4th series in the MNF game is UNACCEPTABLE, PERIOD. He's our best offensive weapon on a team that has very few of them. Then look what happens when he got the ball, he only ran for a 60 yard TD. why he doesn't get the ball more is just baffling to me. Esp after he performed like the 2nd best RB in the AFC last season, after running for nearly 1000 yds in only 9 games, breaking out long TD runs. He's a hell of a weapon running behind a suspect Oline, though this season it's been better. IMO, if Haley and the Chiefs don't want to use Charles, he should go elsewhere to a team that wants to use him. And if that happens, you can mark that down right next to trading Jared Allen and letting Rich Gannon walk as one of this franchise's dumbest moves ever. |

But you have to have your head in the sand to hear what he just said over the past 20 minutes and ignore it, and some here will. |

I know it's hard for you with the Chiefs being 2-0 and all... but there are $$$$$$$$$'s of reasons why this won't be a distraction for KC or Charles. Nick Wright is just trying to make a name for himself, clearly. but you hate Pioli too much to be objective...go figure |

So, there's no possibility of an ... oh, what do you call it? ... overreaction?
Guys, last year we were going to lose DJ and Bowe ... according to the local media, Haley had alienated both those guys to the point they might consider leaving football forever and start a day care business together. Charles wants the ball. That's a good thing. None of this is worth the time to get upset about. FAX |

Listening to that guy was the worst 15 minutes I've had this year.

Guys all over the league whine, complain and cry about their lack of touches or the amount of money they're paid. I think it's more common for skill players to cry than not. This isn't your father's NFL. |
It's just the drafturbators trying their best to bash on Pioli & Co. some since we're 2-0 and they can't have their usual 0-2 field day where they muddy up the board with their rimjob sessions towards one another and their "I told you so" threads!
BUT IT'S MY TURN FOR THAT THIS YEAR MUAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! |
