Wait. On further examination of expert testimony it would seem the *type* of zombie will matter. It's generally accepted that zombies lack the coordination to swim. If they're viral or genetic zombies they won't be able to survive the underwater walk. If they're the plain old undead type you're screwed.

Excellent point. Damn you zombies!

You could put sharks or alligators in the moat.

But then you might end up with zombie sharks or alligators. And that you DO NOT WANT

I think "Barb Wire" would be a great name for a porn queen.

Good point, I hadn't considered the different varieties. When I was a kid, there were only the undead kind. Times (and zombies) change.

Zombie sharks? Do they have zombie lasers on their frickin' zombie heads?

That was assumed, yes.

BAH!

At least you posted the "unrated" version. :p

Does anyone have a copy of this?

I've got that and World War Z by the same author (the son of Mel Brooks) on my Kindle, but haven't gotten around to reading them yet.

Simplex3 04-28-2011 06:29 PM

If you do I'd like to know if you enjoy them.

I'll let you know, I've got a couple of trips coming up and plan on enjoying them. A friend whom I trust says they are the funniest thing he's read in years. If the acorn didn't fall far from the tree, they might not be Blazing Saddles, but I expect it might be To Be Or Not To Be.

I've read it and World War Z.

I'm currently reading Dust, which is a novel told from the zombie's point of view.

Eh. It's currently a little Twilight and teen angst for my tastes (it's a young adult book which I have to read a lot of due to my job). I'm only 40 or so pages in at the moment. It doesn't skimp on the gore and guts, though.

I'll just say that it's amusing me at the moment.

NewChief 04-28-2011 07:48 PM

One of my students is a zombie novel maniac. He's always raving about some guy who you can read all of his stuff online, and he's really into indy and underground zombie lit. I'll ask him for some recommendations if you all are actually interested in zombie lit.

Simplex3 04-28-2011 07:51 PM

I'm not really a zombie guy. I suppose I'm more likely to take the best few from lots of different silos instead of going deep into a specific genre.

Yeah. I'm the same way. World War Z is excellent, FWIW. Like... really good. I haven't really trudged much further than that.

I really like the Passage by Justin Cronin as well. It's vampires, but it feels like zombies, because it has the whole post-apoc thing (which along with dystopian lit is probably my thing more than anything else) and the vampires don't really fit into the traditional vampire mode.

Cool. World War Z is on Youtube. Guess I know what i'll be listening to in the car over the next couple of weeks.
