We're going to pick him up, and end up winning a game we shouldn't/wouldn't have, and come April someone will trade up to the spot we would have been to take Barkley.

We proceed to take the best available RT or 5-tech with the pick.

007 11-22-2011 03:48 PM

To be honest, I really don't give a crap what the Chiefs do in this situation.

Hell you could always trade up in the draft if you want a QB but with the exception of Luck, you are probably looking for 2 years of losing before one matures enough to win...

You guys need a Vet, would not be surprised to see Jason Campbell in a Chiefs uniform next year.

I despise the Chiefs but the fans love that team and deserve to atleast try to better the team and spend the money... If they spend the money and fail, so be it, they are trying but to sit on all that money when Berry Charles and Moeki & Cassel went down is just dumb... Hate the Raiders, call their picks stupid or overpaying etc etc but they are 2 mill over the cap and they are atleast trying to win.

Pretty much. At least you guys are trying to win and doing whatever it takes. WIll it prove to be too costly? Possibly, but then again, maybe Palmer has a bunch of gas left in the tank and it works out for you. At least you guys are trying. A ton more than I can say for this organization.

You seriously think Pioli will take him?

We've had 4 of the best players on this team go down for the season, and not one person has been brought in to replace them (other than jeremy f***ing horne). If Orton becomes a Chief, then this FO is simply flying by the seat of their pants at this point and has zero direction.

and that stinks of Clark Hunt.

DJ's left nut 11-22-2011 03:51 PM

Orton is no worse than an average starting NFL quarterback, which makes him a hell of a lot better than Cassel.

He could step in for the remainder of the year and we could see how he works with the staff. If he's solid, we could see if he'd be interested in a 2-yr deal while we try to develop Robert Griffin (who will need a lot of seasoning).

Or we could just let him walk. It's really a zero-risk acquisition. I'd be pretty annoyed if we just ignored him.

And we certainly will.

Pretty much how I see it, but be careful as you will be labeled as loving 8-8.

Quesadilla Joe 11-22-2011 03:53 PM

Orton would be awful behind the Chiefs OL. At least Cassel tries to get away from pressure, Orton just falls down if a defender is anywhere near him.

Completely different offense than he played in when he was there.

It may very well bite us in the ass but I would rather be close now without picks than light years away with a pocket full of them, It has been a decade of "Next Years" for us and I am damn tired of hearing the Next Year shit.

There will still be an option to trade up.
I hate seeing this team stand pat when there's an opportunity to improve the squad...just so they can MAYBE draft a QB with their #1.

Some of you are cheering Suck for _____ on and there's a very good chance we won't even be looking to draft a QB (and I'm ALL for drafting a QB).

That's exactly what will happen. Because they've set the precedence already by not replacing any of the others that went down. They are not interested in trying to scratch wins.

I think we will ignore him too. This organziation/team has no urgency, no fight to win. Hell, look how we play the game in the 4th quarter, down by 2 or 3 scores and we dont even run a no huddle offense. We ****ing chill and take it easy like we are winning by 2 or 3 scores with 1 min left. At least try!!!! But nope, no fire, no desire. Why in the world would the organization act any different off the field? I think thats what aggravates me more than anything, our lack of will to win. If we suck, we suck but it seems as if the whole team/org doesnt ****ing care.

Don't make any moves.

I want 4 wins. I want the stadium full of black and yellow this weekend. I want Clark Hunt to look out his press box and think he's at an English premier Wolverhampton game. I want the team to generate the least amount of money possible the last 3 home games.

If you are a Chiefs fan tailgating the next few home games, feed the opposing fans as much as you. I don't want them buying anything inside.

What will be curious is if Orton goes to KC is he can spark the Chiefs to have a better record than the Broncos. They meet in Week 17

This is great. McDaniels will take over a roster with two Qb's familiar with his system. Keep Crennel, bolster the offensive line, get a pass rusher, and work on developing Stanzi.

You are correct...
The Waiver Wire works like this:
Team A signs Player X to a contract
Player X makes the roster and is on the team during the regular season
Team A decides it no longer wants Plaer X on its roster
Team A terminates the players contract, releasing him from his duties
Before Player X becomes a free agent, he hits the Waiver Wire
When his name goes on the waiver wire, every team in the NFL has the option to pick up the players original contract (the one Player X originally signed with Team A)
The Waiver Wire is like the NFL Draft in that teams with the worst records get first crack at the players who have been released
Once a team passes on the player then they cannot go back and claim him
If no team signs the player, then he becomes an unrestrictd free agent.

You don't know how the NFL works, You think somebody is going to dominate the NFL just because he played well at Iowa? You want to demoralize this team and risk everything on a 5th round draft pick that has never taken a snap in the NFL that I know of.
This team is down, the fans are down and the franchise is in turmoil, you need calm to prevail in these situations not taking wild ass swings at a pitch you have virtually no chance at hitting.
You want to see McDaniels as the head coach of this team next year? Keep wishing for Haley to make stupid ass moves and you may get your wish.

You got beat by Miami which I thought was the best bad team in the NFL and I had no idea why they were 0-7 .. Look at them playing decent ball now. You got beat by a gimmick team which also beat us and you got beat by arguably the best QB in the NFL and you will get beat by another Great team next week and a couple more before the season ends....

Why get butt raped and put a rookie out there to get his ass handed to you and put more doubt in the players of this team?

Chiefnj2 11-22-2011 04:40 PM
