Offensive teams:
NO 1-1
Detroit 0-1

Falcons 0-1
Bengals 0-1
GB 0-1
Houston 1-1

uhh....the Texans and Bengals were offensive teams? WTF? They were 2nd and 7th this year in total defense, 4th and 9th in scoring defense.

And I'm not sure I would label the Giants as "defensive" - they have some pass-rushers but their D let them down all season. They were 27th this year in total defense, 25th in scoring defense. Meanwhile they were 8th in total offense and 9th in scoring offense.

Stat fail, pete.

Now he's coordinating the Niners defense, and in one season they look really nasty, top 5 in several defensive categories, and probably had some of the best run defense numbers in recent NFL history.

heh, yea...its funny how they do your right. Its the NFL, funny things can happen. Thats why i dont get worked up too much about co-ordinators. IMO talent trumps playcalling and co-ordinators every time. Those Vermeil teams had NO TALENT on defense.

Who cares how the played earlier in the season? They are playing well now when it truly matters.

You need talent to win, but talent doesn't guarantee a win. There is no excuse why a team like the Falcons couldn't put any points on the board against the Giants.

The Giants are good all around.

The Falcons QB is WAY overrated...

The winner this year is from the NFC. Both teams are balanced on both sides of the ball, with the edge to NYG.

oh, okay. So the day after Matt Cassel throws for 4 TDs, you consider him a elite offensive player?

He's not horrible. The Falcons have enough talent that they certainly should not have been shut out.

However, you wouldn't know 'elite' if it smacked you in your face.

Football 101: Quarterback stats are useless.

I don't read you much. The reason: you're a reeruned idiot.

And I won't even mention what's probably been smacked in your face.

If he did it in a divisional playoff game, championship and super bowl like Eli, then sure. Season stats are fine and dandy, but prove it when it really matters. I don't care about season stats much when the playoffs start.

He can't carry the team. If they can't run, they can't score.

Ironically, it was the niners D that let NO back in it, and their O that won the game.
