I wished for this the second I learned that Winston was released. His release was a true blessing for the Chiefs. Kudos to the front office for getting it done.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned his ankle?

Because Winston with one ankle is still much better than Barry "which way did he go, which way did he go...?" Richardson!!!

Here's another news flash...the Chiefs have team doctors who check everybody out before they are signed. Nice feature for a professional team, eh?

Winston is such a Chiefs kind of guy. I think he will be a fan favorite from day one....great interview and tough as nails.

Non-issue. Minor surgery. He passed Chiefs' physical. (I remember the naysayers bemoaning Lilja's "bad" knees.)

**** Winston with a rusty golf club. I hope he goes down during the Raiders game and the crowd really does cheer.

**** him for being the 6th best RT in the league! We don't need players that good!

Makes me wish they still did player introductions so I could boo his sorry ass

Rausch 10-13-2012 09:54 AM

Glad I checked the date before negging the 0P...

He's still a good player. Stop letting butthurt over his comments get in the way of his play on the field.

He's not a great player.

He's a dominating run blocker. He's average at best as a pass blocker.

Last sunday we would have won if not for him...

Saccopoo 10-13-2012 10:05 AM

He's okay.

He's sticking up for his teammate(s), particularly the quarterback. I don't mind an offensive lineman getting testy with people who are criticizing his boy. And it's about time someone on this team showed some fire.

Winston's always been an outspoken guy and if anyone on the team was going to get riled up about some fans booing and let them know how he felt, it was going to be him.

I'm not going to get down on Winston as much as others have because he is defending his QB, regardless of who it is/what they do on the field. It's better than having some incomptent schmuck out there that doesn't give two shits about the game or the team or the QB.

This is exactly right.

I'd rather have an Eric Winston that hates me then a Barry Richardson that loves me.

Regardless of his remarks about the fans, I've seen Crennel, more than once, talk to Winston before several key plays (3rd downs, 4th downs, challenges, etc). It seems to me that RAC values Eric's opinion.

He better apologize to the fan base. Hunt pretty much threw Eric under the bus when he clarified that it was only a small portion of the fans who cheered.

Imon Yourside 10-13-2012 10:16 AM

Winston or Marlboro?

He's 6th in the league in pass blocking.

He allowed the sack that got Ca$$hole killed and then the penalty that negated the TD Brady threw.

He's not a good pass blocker.

Period...

Braincase 10-13-2012 10:40 AM

He's the Manchurian Lineman. He's convincing everybody he wants to protect Cassel, but in reality, he wants him out of the lineup...ergo his poor blocking on passing downs.

I thought the penalty that negated the Quinn-Bowe TD was a pick play on McCluster?

His outrage over the fans cheering was most likely due to him being all butthurt over the whiff he threw as a block.

That being said, I don't remember him once saying it was my missed block that started all this.

KCUnited 10-13-2012 10:52 AM

I like Winston as a player, but it doesn't change the fact that he deflected the shit show that was on the field Sunday and put it all on the fans, for that he can go **** himself.

No his outrage was due to it actually happening.

Besides, we need offensive line loyalty like this when Geno is under center in 2013.

The penalty was on McCluster and not on Jumbo Dumbo.

"This week's show included lots of booing, four more Matt Cassel turnovers, a conservative approach from coach Romeo Crennel, a Cassel botched snap at the goal line that would have given the Chiefs the lead, Cassel eventually leaving the game with a head injury and the home fans cheering (Yes, they cheered.)"

(FTR I admit my error. It wasn't on Winston.)

Wait.

This is on the Chiefs official website, yes?

So, the defender of the fan, Mr. Clark Hunt, has this demonizing commentary on his site?

The guy is a good RT, I don't really give a shit what he has to say. I'm sure it's been a tough year for all of them as well, so lets just finish it off and move n.
