Knowing the Royals we'd actually do that and miss the division title by one game.

Chicago would have to lose all but 1 and Detroit would have to lose all but 3. But it would be nice to win out to even up the awful start. Not gonna happen though.

Never fear, Luke Hochevar is here to extinguish that possibility.

Shogun 09-20-2012 09:10 PM

Even through shitty periods. Baseball is more enjoyable to watch than football

Yeah I know it's not going to happen. Still nice to finish "strong" though at least imo. Then we won't need to sign any more pitching this off season because it's obviously fixed at that point.

;)

Fun stuff. It's great to see these kids have fun like that.

I'm an old man.

How many years have I been saying this and getting scoffed at?

:)

tk13 09-20-2012 09:12 PM

I thought at the beginning of the season that 75-80 wins would be a good step up for this team with this pitching staff. They might actually get close. If only this team just had a couple consistent pitchers.

That's because the worst baseball teams usually still win 60-65 times a year. The worst football teams wait a whole year for the season then win 2 or 3 games. The winning percentages are a lot different.

For me it's just because I enjoy a baseball game more than any other game.

I feel bad for Pirates fans. They lost tonight and fell back below .500... there was a point a couple months ago where there's no way that would happen. What a crash.

That does suck. I was rooting for them.

Well, at least we get our 5-16 month out of the way in May to avoid such a Chiefslike crash.

Baseball has more player development to me which makes watching an entire season still enjoyable for a team that isn't very good.

Ya know if it ever is actually OUR TIME again it's going to be the most satisfying thing ever.

Ceej 09-20-2012 09:47 PM

Football in a landslide.

Just because it's the introduction of fall (the best season), sweats and chili!

Demonpenz 09-20-2012 09:49 PM

baseball is awesome when it means something. I haven't seen an important nerve racking baseball game out of the Royals since 03

Imagine a CP poster (or average American) saying that, heh.

Dartgod 09-20-2012 09:52 PM

Baseball is my first sports love. But unlike football, I have no interest in watching any games that do not involve the Royals. That is, until the playoffs and World Series start.

My reasons aren't what most Americans would list as to why they prefer football though.

Also, can't forget chicken and noodles. Love me some ****ing chicken and noodles.

I don't remember a really nerve racking game even then. I remember being 7 games up at the break only to shit it away in the second half.

It's still my sport.

:)

Football is great. I enjoy football and look forward to it.

Chili and chicken noodles ftw though. That reminds me... Saturday is the first day of fall. Gotta go to the store.

And I'm a strange dude. I can't eat stuff like that (chili, soups, etc) until it starts getting nippy outside.

Which is why I love the fall and football season.

Yea I agree here and I am a football guy too. I will watch any NFL game but I won't watch any MLB games besides the Royals.

I think that's pretty normal really. Many people consider chili and chicken noodles fall/winter food. I usually make both year-round but this summer I didn't. Looking forward to it again.

I'll watch any baseball game... Mariners vs. Twins, college baseball, little league world series... baseball just puts me at peace and makes me feel good.

I know I'm not normal. I accepted that long ago.

My daughter dates a kid who is a top 10 ranked high school pitcher in our state. I like him because he's a really good kid..... but I really like going to his games.

:)

Deberg_1990 09-21-2012 07:45 AM

Silly Royals…..always at their best when the pressure is off. Im not getting suckered in anymore.
