It's an old branch of his tree and some media guys go there on autopilot just as they have in past. These reports are based in conjecture and lack substance. To them being 50% right is a moral win.

You fire the coach and ride the heinous GM out of town on rails there's a chance the chiefs could respond like they did last year and cost the team a draft spot. At this point the chiefs are a gross football team and their strength is bringing in talent to replace the losers they've employed.
