It's a concern. But when you have a 70% completion percentage and 40/6 TD/INT ratio, you don't get many chances to react to adversity. |

Get him past the first level without being touched and watch him carve up defenses like a mad surgeon. |
Was looking at NCAA passing stats, and Seth Doege's stats were eerily similar to Geno Smith's. Same system. Other than RGIII, is there a QB from that system who has been successful in the NFL? Bradford?

Here you guy, Geno fans. I'll leave the tissues at the door for you to clean up after you're done reading this. :)
Scott Wright @DraftCountdown I've been comparing #WestVirginia QB Geno Smith to a young Donovan McNabb and now he could end up with Andy Reid in Kansas City. #Chiefs |

To adequately address their pre-snap reads, you'd have to go over film with them (i.e. what was the called play, what was the ck to, was it a CWM or was it an on the fly audible, and then was the play change (if any) successful and did you make the correct pre-snap read) Hard to get all that without access to Barkley... Now, you can see some of it (i.e. checking to a run or checking out of one from watching film, but you can't go nearly as in depth as you'd need to make accurate comments as to his pre-snap read ability IMO). |

Other than Aaron Rodgers, how many guys from Tedford's system have been successful? Good players are good players. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_raid_offense You are basically looking at current NFL players: RG3, Nick Foles, Brandon Weeden IMO with the RG3 hype and the way today's NFL rules are helping out the passing game... I see Air-Raid as the wave of the future. We could get on board now with GENO SMITH and help pave the way, or we could wait until everyone else utilizes it and we can get on the train after teams start to gameplan and building defenses around it. Something the Chiefs typically do in their mission to stay behind the curve. |

Honestly would rather take a chance on fixing Cassel than drafting Geno. If that fails, at least we will have a good shot at a real QB next draft in Bridgewater or Manziel.

The Chiefs have never needed a make over of an offensive system more than now. |

We should draft Denard Robinson. He's black and runs really fast.

If Reid does go with Geno, I will say that will be Geno's best shot at being an NFL QB.
|
If KC signs Smith then just hope SD doesn't get the Syracuse coach or it'll be an automatic 2 division losses per year.

keep Cassel around. Cassel's got too much cash coming his way in 2013 anyway. I don't think he'll even be on the roster. |

I'm not a big fan of Reid's recent QB history. However, I am pretty excited that Geno Smith seems like an obvious choice. The main QBs he's really relied on (McNabb, Garcia, Vick) have a lot in common. They're not "read the defense quickly" type guys. But they're also not guys who make one read and tuck the ball under to run (Vick used to be. Reid has really forced Vick to do this less).
These are guys who are probably going to hold onto the ball a little longer. But use their mobility to buy time to get guys open. I can see Geno fitting into that role. I would worry if we were talking about a traditional WCO where a more pocket-oriented QB has to make laser-fast reads. And the good news is, I see Smith as a guy who is a hell of a lot more accurate than McNabb, and who will eventually read defenses better than Vick. I'd have to think Reid wouldn't flinch taking Geno as the #1 pick. |
