Supposedly the 9 hour meeting was mostly due to Reid interviewing the Chiefs. One can understand why a coach would want to understand why a team ran Cassel out as QB year after year?

But but but... Clark is a terrible owner and should sell the team because he is only interested in money.

He donated $100 million to renovate Arrowhead. He could sell the naming rights to a large corpoaration but keeps the Arrowhead name and logo so we can enjoy the tradition. He pays to cater food and drinks on draft day for the season ticket holders. He has spent countless days at Joplin to help tornado victoms. Keep in mind he lives in Texas so why should he care about Missouri?

Get your heads out of your ass and learn to appreciate one of the best owners in Sports.

For me, yes. This franchise turned into a dumpster fire in 4 short years under Scott Pioli. The NFL is going to have to make GM training videos showing how NOT to run a franchise. Worst year of my sports fan life is over and the brightest horizon I could have hoped for is in sight. I never thought about Reid because I didn't think we had a chance. Yes. Think Reid is a great coach and ought to do a good job in KC. The one knock on him is that he just does NOT run the ball nearly enough. Ever. Hopefully that's a hangup that his OC or whoever can help him overcome because, IMHO, it's a real problem.

Didn't Reid have Duce Staley on his team and made him look like a stud? I think Charles will get less carries but the carries he does get will suit him far better than just running up Alberts @ss half the time.

I'm somewhat concerned about his inability to get it done myself, but he's so much better than Romeo that you should feel bad for even asking the question.

My hope is that Reid follows in the tradition of Vermeil, Belicheck, Shanahan, and Coughlin as a guy who needs another crack at it to finally win a Super Bowl.

yep.

Between Staley, Westbrook, and McCoy, it's pretty clear Reid knows how to get the most out of a running back, even if he doesn't pound it on the ground that much.

Reid typically failed in the playoffs because his Eagles teams were just a step below SB qualifiers or SB winners.

2000 - lost to the SB qualifier Giants
2001- lost to the SB qualifier Rams, one of the greatest offenses EVER.
2002 - lost to the SB winner Bucs, one of the greatest defenses EVER.
2003 - lost to the SB qualifier Panthers.
2004 - lost SB to the Patriots.
2008- lost to the SB qualifier Cardinals.
2010 - lost to the SB winner Packers.

When you get that far sometimes you just keep losing to teams with better QBs or elite defenses if your QB isn't good enough.

Andy Reid's splits, pass attempts vs. run attempts, for his tenure in Philly:

Code:

Year.....Pass.....Run
1999.....474......424
2000.....575......397
2001.....522......412
2002.....548......489
2003.....484......417
2004.....547......376
2005.....620......365
2006.....544......416
2007.....577......421
2008.....606......427
2009.....553......384
2010.....561......428
2011.....554......450
2012.....618......413

It really isn't as bad as some people think.

And keep in mind when you're looking at the stats that htismaqe just posted......

1. From 2007 on....Reid wasn't calling plays. Marty Mornhinweg was.
2. Childress was the OC from 2003-2005 but Reid called the plays.

I don't know why it was questioned in the first place. He went out originally and got someone who was sought after as a front office guy to replace the long standing gm and then got a hot prospect as a head coach. He's shown to not to have the patience his father possessed (to a fault).

Pinch me...Clark obviously paid attention to the way Elway went after Manning. This is simply great. The first thing on my mind is how he adapts to the AFC West. Reid's Eagles team played in a lot of low scoring games in the NFC East. That will not cut it in the West. We have to score points, lots of them in the AFC. There's 2 ways to do that, toughen up the defense considerably and means free agent help, and of course the west coast offense that consumes the clock. But is that going to score enough points in this division? The challenge ahead is a tough one.
