We are gonna have around 30 million in cap room when Jackson and Cassel are cut.
That's outstanding. |
After today chiefs are over the cap. Goodbye Cassel and Jackson
|
Cut Studebaker's worthless ass as well.
|
Maybe we can restructure Halis contract.
|
I got the chiefs at 8.8m over right now.
Albert- 9.8m Bowe-4m Dustin - Guessing around 2.5m Chiefs are 8.8m Over the cap right now |
lol at the fans on here that are hoping for a "FA" splash
time to wake up homers |

you do know there is a 14 million carry over coming March 12 right did you factor that? that alone puts us under and I think cutting Jackson frees up like 15 million against the cap, you can potentially sign 2 to 3 good players with that space |

March 12 we get an extra 14 million for the new league year so our cap number is actually like 137 million technically.

Nice. Hopefully they can get Albert on long term to lessen his cap hit.
|
all im learning last year is Pioli spent a lot of money to field a 2-14 team, one of the highest payrolls of 2012.
that is really sad |
Cutting Studebaker saves the chiefs 2.05m Well Bye
|
Sad that Cassel and Jackson count for nearly 30 million and we only save half that by cutting them.
|
The fact that Albert's situation would have a fairly significant impact on our cap situation tells me that they are indeed going to try to extend him to a long term deal before July 15th and forgo drafting Joeckel/Fisher.

JFC that list is so sickening. Jackson cant get off the payroll fast enough.

lol Studebaker must have had some black mail on Scooter to get that contract holy hell

How does the equation work to figure how much of a cap savings we get for cutting a player?
Jackson was given a new contract last year...shouldn't his whole salary come off the books? |
So we should:
Cut Cassel. Slash Jackson. Cut Studebaker. Restructure Tamba/Berry. Extend Albert. Boom. |

Pioli is like an STD. He just keeps infecting us over (Jackson) and over (Cassel) and over (stalling Bowe) and over (Albert) and over (Carr) and over (picking Stephenson over Wilson) and over again.

Tyson Jackson to get $31 million guaranteed Posted by NBC Sports on August 7, 2009, 12:08 PM EST Chiefs defensive end Tyson Jackson is on his way to training camp, and he’ll be a very rich man when he arrives. Nick Wright of KCSP radio in Kansas City has alerted PFT that Jackson’s deal is for five years and $57 million, with $31 million guaranteed. Jackson was the third overall pick in April’s draft. Agents of other rookie holdouts, especially Seahawks linebacker Aaron Curry, will be examining all the particulars of Jackson’s deal closely. If the figures hold up, Jackson will receive only $2 million less in guarantees than number two pick, Rams T Jason Smith. Last year’s third pick, Matt Ryan, received $34.75 million guaranteed on a $66 million contract, receiving the usual quarterback premium. It’s not a huge surprise Jackson missed so much of training camp. The third overall pick has been a difficult spot in rookie negotiations dating back to Larry Fitzgerald, Braylon Edwards, and Vince Young. It’s unclear when Jackson will begin practicing, but Wright reports that Jackson began his journey to training camp early Friday morning. |
I wonder if Hali is approached about restructuring his deal.

Good news and good links. Hoping AR/Dorsey manage wisely. A Lombardi scooner.

I looked up that shit yesterday and completely forgot about his next 2 years. |
We can clear a lot of cap space by:
1) Cutting/Restructuring TJax. 2) Cutting Cassel. 3) Restructuring/Trading Tamba Hali 4) Extending/Restructuring Eric Berry |

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
@ArrowheadAddict Seemed clear. Knew how badly they wanted to keep Albert, some great tackles in the draft, cutting Winston saves $4M in cap |
Surely to god we wouldn't lock up Albert then draft a RT at 1?
|
Will they use Winston's money to sign Albert to an extension and make some cap room?

Just seems pointless to tag Albert at LT if their plan is to draft an LT and play him at RT?? If you want a franchise LT at number 1, than let Albert go and have Winston stay at RT. It would be cheaper as well
|
The 3.5 Winston cap savings basically means cutting Cassel and trading for Smith carries no additional cap increase for the Chiefs.
They should have between 10-13 million million at the start of FA. |
Quote:
7.4 What do we save when we cut Cassel? If somebody trades a bag of chips for him, how much is saved then? Studs baker should be gone, too...that's another 2m. Cassels base was gonna be 7.5 and his whole cap hit was gonna be 9.8. |
Quote:
*something monopoly* |

I'm not sold on the Winston 3.5m saving the numbers don't add up. Cassel saves 5.6m if cut if traded we save 9.8m, Andy 2m |

If the 3.5 is legit, that would put us at 15 under if they cut Cassel and Andy.
Right? If its not right, that leaves us at around 12 under. |
Quote:
|
Maybe with that we end up getting Albert longterm and increase that 15 number?
|
Look for most teams to back load the contracts this year. 2014 new TV deals cap goes up.
|
Just wait for the rumors to start surfacing about them trying to clear cap space to give Alex Cassel his 100million dollar extension.
|
Therefor, re up Albert and back load the shit out of it.
Then when free agency hits, let Reid turn loose like.................well Reid in a candy store. |
