Fantastic ad placement by that speaker company there.

Watching it on DVR and just got to the Wild and Crazy Guys sketch. Fantastic.

Mr. and Mrs. Akroyd 30 years ago.
Give them credit for staying married all these years.
They have three daughters.
And...
We all lose our charm in the end.
Don't we all want to find somebody we can grow old with?

DaFace 03-10-2013 01:20 PM

Well, it kind of started falling apart at the end (Sober Caligula?), but they can't hit on all of them. Still one of the better shows they've done in a long time.

What does Donna Dixon look like now?

PS: Tom Hanks & her were in Bosom Buddies.

Sketch comedy can't hit on every sketch. Just not going to happen. But, the pieces right before Caligula called "She's got a dick" was hilarious.

Why is the Timberlake hosted ones so much better? I understand he's just naturally a funny guy. But there are a lot of funny guys in the world. Kevin Hart's stand up is hilarious but his hosting last week was maybe 25% funny. Wonder why more episodes are not funny at the same level as a Timberlake hosted SNL?

I actually thought that was borderline painful. So much forced nostalgia there. Those characters weren't even a little bit funny in a vacuum; they were just there for the sake of dusting off Steve Martin.

I thought last night was good, but not outstanding.

That said, if Timberlake and Jennifer Lawrence ever had children, they'd be the most terminally likeable people ever created. I just can't find anything to dislike about Justin Timberlake.

Pepe Silvia 03-10-2013 04:43 PM

That was an awesome skit last night. And yeah, Aykroyd wife is still smokin' hot, I believe she was the Wayne's World chick.

Cannibal 03-10-2013 05:03 PM

Timberlake was born for SNL hosting gigs.

I was dismayed at how much Hart fumbled and stumbled over lines.

Took a lot of air out of his sketches.

I liked his stand up. Hence, the disappointment in his hosting.

The dude is a natural for SNL. Best I've seen since Martin in the 70's and Hanks in the 90's - 2000's.

timberlake got to draw on what had worked for him in the past. Of course, he also got to contribute to the writing/selection. Kevin hart is simply not as funny.

I think it's more like "Kevin Hart is simply not as good at sketch comedy." There's a huge difference between standup and sketch. That doesn't mean that a great standup comic is any more or less funny than a great sketch comic.

It is completely bizarre to me that a guy from a friggen' boy band has ended up being an almost universally-respected celebrity.

If he was an overtly arrogant asshole, it wouldn't work for him now. Doesn't hurt that he is genuinely funny.

While his current music is better it still isn't stuff is generally listen to, but I like him quite a bit. I really started liking him after watching alpha dog and the snl stuff has been great.

Leonardo Dicaprio is another Tiger beat guy who ended up being extremely talented and a lot of fun to watch in his different roles, probably the best actor of his young generation.

Jenson71 03-10-2013 08:54 PM

I liked Timberlake better back when he was doing N*SYNC.
