HUGE for this team. Anyone who thinks we haven't upgraded our QB situation...is wrong. |

You're missing the worst part of this.
Alex Smith isn't a frog that sings and dances. He's a ****ing alien that pops out of our chests and sings and dances, killing us as fans in the process. http://uranus.ckt.net/~gochiefs/alexalien2.gif |

That is NOT a typical Alex Smith stat line He threw for 240 yards or more exactly SIX TIMES for the 49ers in the last 27 games. That's not even 25 percent. Meanwhile he's thrown for 200 or less yards for the 49ers 15 times in the last 27 games. THAT is what Alex Smith is. Typically, he throws for less than 200 yards. Garbage. |

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...&postcount=152 This one for example, the poster worries that an NFL team will draft someone and turn around and release him. What an uber idiot that guy is. |
Also he averages 1td a game fairly regularly
Like clockwork Like that torn up **** ASF 'S menstrayshunal bleeding What a ****ing liar trying to say 240 with 0 int and 2td is typical |

I'm not reading this thread because I'm so over this shit. However, this is a gem from the OP. I knew exactly what he was talking about when I read the thread header. Yep. I'm old.

This is brilliant.

He has warts. Probably used a cane. The tongue and fly eating might explain the following.

I'm not thrilled about the trade, but I am not as upset as many. A few quick questions for the board:
1) What numbers do you think Alex Smith will put up for 2013? 2) What numbers would Alex Smith need to put up for 2013 to make this a good trade? 3) What numbers do you think Reid/Dorsey are expecting from Alex Smith? |

Alex Smith is an upgrade from Matt Cassel at QB.
That is beyond question. That upgrade, however, is similar to upgrading from a broken digital clock that is right once a day, to a broken analog clock that is right twice a day. |

If we had just taken a chance and drafted a QB in 2013....that'll be the next one. Guaranteed. By ALL.

What about the long term and saavy fans they have alienated to the point of defection? Great plan!

The dancing frog is an awsome sports analogy. I'd argue that the closest thing the Royals have is Luke Hochevar. He occasionally flashes ace stuff, but in the 5th inning, he just sits on the stage and ribbits.

Everybody do the Michigan Raaaaaaaaaaaag!!!

Yes I do remember this cartoon.

I have been a fan of this team, this uniform, since their Super Bowl win. I have lived through the hopelessness of the late70s-80s and the hopeful 90s and early 00s. Bottom line is it's the name, the logo and the uniform you stay loyal to. People who fill those uniforms come and go. We can only hope that one of these times, finally the right group of people will fill them and we will see glory again. Any deviation from that degree of loyalty disqualifies one from calling himself a fan. |

There's a lot of fail in this picture. |
It the same Story every off Season. Alex is the best QB in the league in MAY/JUNE/JULY. He does everything that is asked of him in the off season. I been hearing this same tune from every different OC or HC the Niners have had since 2006. It is always" wow Alex looks sharp", " Alex is teaching others the play book", Alex taking command of the Offense" etc. Then Come Sept..............Offense starts off slow, relies of Def and SP.
I don't see Alex Smith doing much more than his 175-200 yards passing, and little ovr 1 TD a game. The less the Niners asked of him the better he played. |
So he's Matt Casselll
|
Quote:
His 2008 or 2010 season would be Alex's dream season. I Hope Alex can pull if off those kind of numbers, he is a nice guy after all. Alex just over thinks in games, he would a far better Coach than he ever will a QB. |
Smith will suck. By week 8 there will be a story about what a wonderful person Alex Smith is off the field. He got a ferrel cat to nurse some orphan praire dog pups or some other like shit. True fans ejaculate, he's Matt Casselll.

Just my line of thinking. |

Flipping the ball short to a guy - the checkdown pass - has its place. But on third down? All it really leads to is a team that punts. A lot. That's fine if you have a truly elite defense. It's unlikely Alex Smith will have such a luxury in his time in KC. |
Quote:
I agree, he has to pick up the 3rd downs, agreed completely. He also has to feel free to take some chances, and give guys a chance to make a play..... Agreed on all of the above. |
