Not sure what recording that is but they have sounded great with the exception of the Sandstone on the Dream rocker tribute show. Their were sound problems most of their set-the PA sucked for all the bands. Not sure wtf happened but at harrah's they were great and last week at Worth they nailed it. I am not sure you could get closer to the real music. I have seen AC Dc many times. |

They don't play like AC/DC. They're not playing behind the beat and the drummer sucks ass. I realize that most people just listen to the singer and that's fine. But if you listen to the band - the guitarist, bassist and drummer - they're missing all of the essential elements that made AC/DC a great band: Timing, tones and feel. Not to mention timeless songwriting, which is clearly something out their realm. |
Tribute bands are ****in dumb anyway

Ralph nailed Dave, Russ (and especially Bryan Young) nailed Eddie and the bassist and drummer were dead ringers as well. They were an absolutely blast to see, especially around 1999-2001, because they were just freaking awesome. I used to see everyone from B. Real to Fergie to Slash - you name 'em - at the Whiskey when they played. But yeah, 99.99% of the time, tribute bands completely and utterly suck ass. |

They suck bad my goodness, bad tribute band indeed |

And secondly, that band is not something(at least for MY friend anyway)that is taken as life or death. I mean for ****s sake; it's AC/DC. Knowing John as I do, he'd probably get more kicks out of being in a Mentors tribute band. Quote:

The drummer "IS" the beat. Angus and Malcolm didn't play ahead of Phil, they played behind him. Quote:

You might know less about music than you do football, which, quite frankly, is shocking. |

Why don't you tell us which amp the brothers used on Back in Black? The console it was recorded on? How the snare was mixed and what made it unique? That's just a few questions for starters. |
LMAO
I'm sure you're furiously searching the internet. LMAO |

1979 50 watt two input JMP head, tracked on a Harrison MCI, mixed on a Neve 8078. The trick with the snare was putting an Eventide 949 detuned 10 cents. |

I'd like to know what you *think* you know about music and music production because based on your responses over the years, it's less than zero from my POV. |

And producing is at least as important as songwriting. |

Yeah, Dude, you overplayed your hand. |
Sweet Daddy: I understand that you have a buddy involved in this. I'd stick up for a buddy in a similar situation...but these guys sounded terrible to me. I had to go listen to some AC/DC on YouTube just to wipe out the memory of their covers. And I'm not even overly fond of AC/DC. What I did notice from watching those guys is that all of instruments worked together in a synergistic wave of kick ass music. It's not some kind of deep music that will change the world but it's driving, energetic and fun to listen to. Bon Scott had a crazy style to his singing. I don't know, maybe he was half baked all the time, but he belted shit out and it rocked. Brian Johnson doesn't sound like that. To me he seems more focused, more tightly wound, when he sings. I think he does justice to the old stuff and I like the job he does. Like I said I'm not overly fond of the band. I do enjoy the music though. This KC/DC sounds just horrible if you listen to anything by AC/DC. It's like they are actively trying to kill the music.

On the other hand I think Iron Maiden is great. Probably my favorite of that style of music. Run To The Hills gives me goosebumps when I hear it.

Im guessing "John" is JJ Richards? |

I don't know what name he's using. If I played AC/DC, I'd probably change my name too. |
I'm nearly positive that I have Bush Roaming Mammels on cd buried in a box somewhere in my basement.

JJ Richards was Billy Goat's bassist according to wikipedia |
