Tough crowd

I can't think of a better way to neuter an already questionable passing attack than with a noodle-armed checkdown artist and a turnstile rookie LT.

It's a good thing the NFL isn't a passing league or anything.

O.city 04-20-2013 11:33 PM

Everyone in the media thinks the rookie lt will be an upgrade. Only on cp is he gonna suck.

For it to be a success, he needs to be elite day one

And it could be that they let Albert talk to the Dolphins so he and his agent can get a realistic picture of what another team would offer at the high end of the pay scale - which the Dolphins would be for a guy like Albert.

I'm not moving on until the fat lady sings, and that's going to be draft day.

The media is reeruned. And neither Joeckel or Fisher are elite level prospects for the position.

It took a real elite level guy like Okung two years to get it all together. It took Albert three.

Neither of these guys are going to hit the ground running and will require a pretty steep learning curve adjusting to the NFL, especially on the left side.

So your trusting a guy named Mike Jurecki. The same guy who said he was 95% sure Reid was gonna be the next head coach of the Cardinals. Espn picked up on that and got embarassed.

People are picking up on this guys report today and running with it the same thing Espn did.

Here's my new plan.

Let's draft Joekel or Fisher round one, Barret Jones in round two.

Follow those picks up with guys like Alvin Bailey, JC Tretter, Jeff Baca, Brian Winters, etc.

Just use every pick in this draft to take O-Line.

Then maybe, next year, and the 3 or 4 years after, we can actually focus on QB and playmaker positions that actually ****ing matter.

Absolutely. We can win a championship with some average FA ILB. I still think we need to upgrade our WR corps.

A good defense is going to roll coverage to Bowe and make life very hard for Alex Smith with these WRs.

Chiefshrink 04-21-2013 11:53 AM

Here are my QB's in order of preference if we get our 2nd back and if we do it will probably be the 54th and it's likely my first 2 choices will be gone by then BUT just in case here they are:

1. Nassib
2a. Manuel
2b. Wilson
3. Glennon

No Bray for me for obvious reasons.

Now, again, let's stop with the SNR fantasy land: WE ARE DRAFTING JOECKEL OR FISHER WITH THE 1.1 PICK.

Accepting that, who do you take? Here's the draft.

The top remaining talent at this point, in my humble opinion:

QB Tyler Wilson, Arkansas
QB Tyler Bray, Tennessee
RB Giovani Bernard, North Carolina
WR Aaron Dobson, Marshall
WR Da'Rick Rogers, Tennessee Tech
OT Kyle Long, Oregon
OT Menelik Watson, Florida State
OT Terron Armstead, Arkansas-Pine Bluff
OG Justin Pugh, Syracuse
OG/C Barrett Jones, Alabama
OLB Cornellius "Tank" Carradine, Florida State
OLB Corey Lemonier, Auburn
OLB/ILB Sio Moore, Connecticut
ILB Kevin Minter, LSU
ILB Jon Bostic, Florida
S Bacarri Rambo, Georgia

To me, Menelik Watson, Giovani Bernard, Cornellius Carradine, Kevin Minter, Justin Pugh, and Barratt Jones are the can't miss guys there.

My preference would be Carradine or Minter. Minter is the better player, Carradine's position is far more important. Barratt Jones would also make a ton of sense.

Given that we just dropped a 1.1 on Joeckel, Watson and Pugh make little sense. Plus, they're going in the 1st anyway.

JFC, That mock in the OP is one of the more shitty ones that I've seen.:harumph:

Normally I don't have a strong opinion on all of these guys - it just so happens I watched Bray play a lot - He's basically Matt Cassel w/ a little more heat behind his passes. He completely loses his mind upon any sort of pressure.

I dont care either way. Geno is the best developmental prospect for QB in this draft, and were holding the number one pick. Two plus two equals "jell-o" in Chiefs Land though.

That's great.

People around here were shitting bricks with the thought of the Chiefs drafting a real elite level offensive tackle in Okung over a ****ing safety, but we've got a chance to draft the best quarterback in the entire draft and we're now okay with drafting a marginal talent at the OT position in Joeckel or Fisher?

19 people still want Tyler Wilson?

Have any of you actually done any homework on that guy? He is truly, truly terrible. His best hope to make a living playing football is to never actually play football. He can make a decent career for himself holding a clipboard on the basis of Petrino's gimmick offense, but the moment he's actually asked to play NFL football, he'll get exposed and drummed out.

It's straight up denial.

If ***** was the guy making these calls, EVERYONE on CP would hate them.

Alex Smith for 2 second rounders, including the second pick in this years second round. Haha Everyone would be calling the Smith signing another Routt signing. The only difference in perception is the fact that everyone wants to desperately give Dorsey the benefit of the doubt at this point.

people had ten inch wieners around here when Routt was signed, there was a ton of Routt homers/lovers on here and then they had to eat crow when that turd was cut, he was getting beat like the drum and people were still defending him that it wasnt his fault.

i dont think id ever compare Smith to Routt, Routt was bad, anyone with a brain could figure that out, but i guess comparing the value of QB to CB, Alex Smith is on the low end at his more premium demanded position, which is like Routt being on the low end of bad CB play.

But I dont know that's as low as a comparison as you can make, because Routt was/is really bad. I'd like to think Alex Smith will/can have 1 good game in every 3 games. Essentially he can beat the Buffalo Bills but he will lose to the Denver Broncos by 30. He will beat the Cleveland Browns but lose to the Colts by 40.

I'm a Tyler Bray fan, I know that's not popular. Would like to take him at 3a or b.

Tyler Bray - QB - Player
The Steelers reportedly believe Tennessee's Tyler Bray is the most talented quarterback in the 2013 draft.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette allows "a lot of NFL teams" feel this way about Bray, but the Steelers could be eyeballing the big-armed thrower on the draft's third day. Most NFL coaches say the underclassman "needs to sit and learn for several years," but could grow into "a top-tier quarterback very similar to Joe Flacco." We expect Bray to be a second-day pick due strictly to his arm talent.

penbrook 04-21-2013 10:57 PM

Hell people say Nassib is the best qb, and some same Landry Jones, and some say Matt Barkley. But very little say Geno is the best.
