Who was the Jags douche that had a Bray QBOTF sig?
|
ANALYSIS
Strengths Bray uses his height to adequately survey the field and see over his offensive lineman, yet he also displays the flexibility to bend and reach for low shotgun snaps. Bray has elite arm strength, and generates this power through a consistent rotation of his hips. His throws are often tight spirals, and the velocity of his throws allows him to beat defenders to the spot. He shows the ability to manipulate the pocket, and change his arm slot, while still delivering accurate throws. Weaknesses An extremely thin build, and won't contribute much as a scrambler. His gamed is mired with tremendous inconsistencies, mostly rooted in a poor feel for the intricacies of the game. Accuracy and footwork can go array at any point in the game. Takes to many unnecessary risks. Has a tendency to stare down his targets. Did not develop in his Junior season as many had hoped. NFL Comparison Jay Cutler Bottom Line Based on pure arm talent, Bray is an extremely impressive quarterback prospect. However, his arm talent only resulted in a few standout plays amongst a season of poor decisions, and maddening inconsinstencies. An NFL team that drafts him will be doing so based on their faith in cleaning up the many aspects of Bray's game that leave much to be desired. |

Derek Dooley was a shit coach that didn't exactly help Bray.
I'll be honest this is the first Chiefs rookie QB i've been excited about in my lifetime. |

It's always exciting to sign a player that every GM in the NFL refused to draft.

YES! Regardless of his d-bag tendencies, he was my 2nd fave QB in the draft (behind Geno). I saw numerous projections for next year that had him as the fave to go #1 overall had he not declared this year....in a draft class they are projecting to be more talented...doesn't make sense. But love this. I've been a Bray fan since his Sophomore season.

In today's draft, at the end of the 7th round, Mr. Irrelevant was the 254th pick. |

We'll need to keep 2 10 million dollar tackles for this statue to have any chance

At any rate it appears like we've been drafting a bunch of D-bags this year, as opposed to team captains

Milk what are your thoughts on Bray? You think we may have something here?
|
The chances of him panning out are probably really low.
But I'll say this: For more than a year, I've had this gut feeling about him. Probably just need some Pepto-Bismol, but still ... |

They'll probably sit him a year, give him a couple of spot starts and then flip him for a draft pick.

I called this on at least three early occasions.

Tyler Bray-Dwayne Bowe--->The Knucklehead Connection FTW
|
Today my inner Mayock came out...pound the table for Bray in round 6 and 7.

The reality is the all arm/less brain QBs rarely make it. The guy has a monster arm though, he can make any throw on the field. But he also made some throws Matt Cassel would shake his head at. Mind boggling bad throws. He definitely needs someone who will discipline him a bit.
|
Watching him on Gruden camp, he made a ton of his INT's mistakes because he always wanted to go deep and threw it into double, sometimes triple teams.
There were mulitiple plays where he could have threw it to the flat to his RB. Hell one of those INT's the RB was wide the **** open with no defender within 15 yards of him and Bray threw it deep. Sounds like he is fixable. It's his character that concerns me. Not sure if he can be a leader and run this offense. |

At the end of the day, QBs are defined by what's above the shoulders, and Bray strikes me as an idiot. |

Been calling for Bray to KC for a long time. Always said he needed to sit a learn from a strong, QB-centric and offensive minded coach with no pressure to start as a rookie.
He's either going to boom or bust, nothing in between. No career backup, either a good starting QB in the NFL or selling insurance somewhere. |

The kid's got all the time in the world to learn and mature. There's no downside to this. (unless you're a Stanzi fan)

Bray may have an upside. Getting him for nothing to see if he produce that upside is a win-win for the Chiefs and Bray. At least he has to be better than Stansi.
|
Alex Smith will be the perfect role model for Tyler Bray. This signing along with the draft and FA makes this a fairly successful offseason as far as offseasons go. Now we just need to win games and develop Bray in the process.

Please tell me CP is not seriously excited about an undrafted QB

Very happy with the Draft since we picked up Bray for nothing. He could be special and then again he might not. Smith is going to have time behind our o-line and hopefully it will be great for Charles. Nico Johnson is going to be a great replacement for Belcher. Could have been better but could have been worse.
