Some of you guys aren't thinking long term. It makes sense to buy Albert now and then use him for LT, G as his career winds down. It also adds the assurance that if he gets injured then Fisher can swing to the other side and play LT.

It's not as sexy as drafting Luck or RG3 but that's the hand that was dealt to KC. Live with it.

And again, the point is driven home:

Get a REAL QB in here pronto and we're set to rape faces.

Part of the reason Troy Aikman was such a BAMF was that line in Dallas...holy god the thought of that in KC is making me JIMP.

Are you per chance "shocked" about the great addition of another FB? Per chance?

Would you be willing to pay him his contract if you were able to play him at any position you please? For instance, his "Duane Brown money" contract to play LG?

Titty Meat 05-01-2013 05:59 PM

So Dorsey drafted a right tackle 1.1 and traded for a fullback.

Wow.

You're right, I guess I should fall in line like the rest of you. Maybe we can draft a LG with our first rounder next year. You can never have enough first round picks spent on the Oline.

I wouldn't ever pay a guard that much money.

I think Albert's ceiling is around 7.5 million a year.

Jamaal Charles has more talent than Priest Holmes, and look at what Priest did. That will help Alex do what he does best, manage the game. LOL

Play Albert at LT this year and trade him next once either Stephenson/Allen prove they can play RT - since, you know we did spend a 2nd and 3rd on them.

I understand that keeping Albert is better for the team. What's ****ing mesmerizing me is that a 2-14 organization just spent 1.1 on a ****ing RT when they have other, more pressing needs.

Where is the ****ing logic in that?

What happened with Winston. Cut by Texans then cut by Chiefs after one year.
And he was supposed to be all pro type. something had to be up ?

We should be thankful for this. With Albert and Winston at LT/RT, there will be no excuses. Pass protection is going to be excellent.

for months people have bent over backwards to argue that Albert sucks, and is a terrible human for wanting to be paid money...

only downside is we spent the #1 pick in the draft on a RT, which is just the dumbest, most pathetic ****ing thing imaginable...i mean it is reeruned (you idiot homers can shove it up your asses)

QBs are risky...drafting RTs from the MAC is smart: said no one but Chiefs fans ever

Yes, because Fisher's position is set in stone and is only on a one year deal and we absolutely know that Albert will be back next year.

Who else were they taking there? Some of you make this out to be that they passed on Andrew Luck because it was too risky. Passing on Geno Smith is receiving this much ridicule?

Not really a need, but I would take a pass rusher all day over a RT at 1.1.

I dont think Hali is going to be around for another contract.

tk13 05-01-2013 06:24 PM

The reality is this is probably overkill.

The good news though, is that it's not really a bad thing. There's nothing wrong with a great offensive line. It can certainly control the game at the LOS. It's not a position like say, CB, where two great ones can still get burnt up and down the field with a poor pass rush.

People talk about how the Ravens had two 1st round tackles playing a good level... but look at the Niners. They have two 1st round tackles, plus Iupati, who's a first rounder... and Solari coaching them up. They can maul people up front. It's certainly hasn't hurt them. Even if Alex Smith flames out, the next guy will be in a great situation. Just like Kaepernick was.

I know its not what we all wanted but we picked a bad year to suck worse than anyone else.

A better O-line is better for the team. We didn't really need one of the top DE's or CB's. We wern't picking a QB. It is what it is.

Ironic thing that even behind that great O-line, Alex Smith still took the most sacks in the league and still managed to get injured.

True fans love Mullets, red solo cups, shirts that are too small for them, Keith Partridge feather parts, tattoos, 90's jeans, Norelco Miami Vice adjustable blade beard trimmers, bandanas under their ball caps (I thought that was a Raider thing) and well, Offensive Tackles.

Now that the line is officially built, we're now ready to draft a QB.
