49ers come first and are my only true love. Chiefs are a distant 2nd favorite that I will take interest in pulling for, so long as they don't conflict with the 49ers. ... and done. :p |

Bowe doesn't strike me as the prototypical WCO WR... |

Still, the 9ers finished 23rd in total passing yards and Alex averaged 160 passing yards/game. It's probably skewed by the game he got hurt in but he was still on pace to throw for less than 3,000 yards. |

Doesn't matter how much Reid wants to air it out if his starting QB is too scared to take the shot.
I'm expecting lots of sacks and checkdowns. |
Quote:
... then again, with a guy like Charles out of the backfield (or in), maybe it would be wise and beneficial to check passes to him frequently. |

Glad to see some enthusiasm. Hopefully everyone is this enthusiastic and it knocks the stink of losing off this team.

I suppose we'll see as far as Andy Reid airing it out. I suspect we just drafted a RT with the first pick of the draft and a fullback later on for a reason. Alex may throw more times but I'd hope it'll all be underneath stuff and screens. I wouldn't call that airing it out though. |

I agree mostly with the last paragraph though. If Reid is wise, he would do well to trend towards a similar offense that Alex was so efficient with in SF. |

I wonder if this forum will be as active when the Chiefs start winning. As I've always said, half of this place comes here because they like to be martyrs and root against the Chiefs

-some will claim that they believed in Alex all the time, but just enjoyed pissing people off with their comments. -some will make every excuse in the book to suggest that "the team around Alex was perfection... and Alex needs to be carried by perfection." -some will say that "9 wins just isn't good enough... that the season was some fluke.. that just barely winning isn't really winning.. and they still must get a real QB to get any further." The feet will be dug in so deeply that you will rarely hear "I was wrong about that QB." ... and if you do read that? Then others will kiss that ass because that person had the stones to admit they were wrong. So there really won't be any worthwhile accountability. ... and like I said before... internet pride and the "being right or wrong" game is pretty silly anyway. None of us get paid to assess players or assess draft prospects. Yet people still find a way to insert their egos to other anonymous people on a forum. It is an interesting... and addictive world. |

If we have that many of these fans, then why not just combine forums with the rest of the AFCW? The division rivals respect the Chiefs more than these aforementioned fans. :shake: |

Perhaps most of the folks on thsi board that your describe as "... martyrs and root against the Chiefs..." are not buying into yet another back QB being brought in as the starting QB for KC. We've seen this movie before, we know how it ends. |
Quote:
No one demands that you "buy into it", but many suggest you give it a chance before ripping it to shreds. That's the chickenshit way to go. You may very well have seen "movies" similar... but some movies actually CAN end differently. |
Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe told reporters yesterday that he would lead the NFL in receptions and touchdowns in 2013 but he also had some praise for his new QB, Alex Smith.
“Just watching Steve Young back in the day, he’s that kind of guy,” Said Bowe on Wednesday. “He’s not too vocal about it, but when he’s in the huddle, he makes his presence known. He’s demanding guys speed up — I mean, I never had a quarterback like that.” Wow. That is pretty high praise. Bowe isn’t the only player heaping praise on Smith. Despite being early on in the process, the players seem to be warming to Smith as their new leader. Two of those players are WRs Dexter McCluster and Jonathan Baldwin. “He’s a great quarterback, a guy that’s mobile, a guy that knows how to read defense and take advantage of mismatches,” McCluster said. “He’s definitely confident. As a quarterback, you need to be confident. But knowing him, he’s never shaken.” Baldwin noted that he is already developing a rapport with his new QB. “We communicate all the time. We text back and forth, talking about different things we see, different things we want to do,” said Baldwin. “He kind of understands where I’m going to be, and I understand what he’s thinking, and the more you have a relationship with your quarterback off the field, the better it is on the field.” For Baldwin and McCluster, Smith could be just what the doctor ordered. While McCluster has had a bit more success, both players have failed to meet the expectations that come along with being taken in the first two rounds of the draft. Andy Reid’s offense, combined with Smith’s accuracy, could be the combination that finally helps McCluster and Baldwin get to the next level as receivers. |

If the exact same coaching and players were being thrown out there? Yeah, I'd probably adopt a negative attitude also. But that isn't what is happening. |

The future looks ****ing grim. That's all we're saying. This experiment is most likely not going to work barring an unprecedented spike in Alex Smith's productivity that he has never even sniffed before in his career. |

Because 9 wins and a playoff visit would be a monumental step in the right direction for your franchise? One that would likely lead to a deep playoff run the following year after more consistency and added weaponry? My My... the young world of the entitled.. insisting upon a SB championship after being 2-14 the year before or all is a failure? Get real. |
At least Bowe will be thrown better-placed balls.
Cassel's passes required circus catches a lot of the time. |
Hit Bowe in stride and watch the fun ensue. Oh yeah, Baldwin too.

We're insisting on building a team the RIGHT ****ING WAY. Meaning when your team is the worst team in the NFL and you have no franchise QB, you take that opportunity to ****ing draft one instead of trading for a backup. If anything, we're saying that loading up on free agents like a ****ing crack-addicted smack slut and paying out the ass for gargage QBs that other teams don't want is the WRONG way to build. We're opting for perhaps fewer wins in the short term as long as we can get MORE wins in the long term. This method that we're employing now, if anything, is the "young world of the entitled" you senile douchebag. It's an "I don't have long to be alive, so get that game manager QB out there pronto so we can start putting up 9-7 seasons and one-and-dones in the playoffs! We have to do that right away! NOW!" |
Quote:
Or don't. I don't ****ing care. I find your tantrums hilarious. Some of us may actually have some respect for the KC GM and HC.. and the scouting department that clearly didn't see a worthwhile QB to develop into a SB winner. Some of us are taking a laid back approach of wait-n-see optimism. ( insert "deal with it" gif ) nlm |

You can go ahead and be happy about that. I'm willing to be patient and go through a team rebuild the RIGHT way, which includes acquiring a real franchise QB and not spending all this ****ing money on middle-of-the-road stop gap free agents. I'm willing to go through more 2-14 seasons if the end result is a sustained level of playoff success for a decade or more. Now who's the entitled dipshit? |
Quote:
They're not doing things to your satisfaction... you cry about it... and even have to ask who the entitled dipshit is?!? Guess that just makes you entitled and dense. Now is there anything else we can add to this riveting discussion? Or do you have a burning need to hurl more childish hostilities at me because you are in a state of despair? Moving on now??? Good! Wipe your tears... straighten your shirt, and use a towel to clear the snot running down your nose. It's gonna be okay, puddin'.... |
So if someone isn't happy with a move and get on a ****ing message board to state that they are now "entitled"?
That's the point of this ****ing place. Posted via Mobile Device |

Discuss whatever the hell you want... sure you have that freedom. But when you cry over and over, then expect to be called on it. What happened when you cried for more than 10 minutes as a child? Did your daddy just roll his eyes and ignore it? or did he smack you upside the head and yell, "STFU and be a man!" ? Think about it. |
