What's up with Shields? Is he tired of the team not producing scores for him?

Sure-Oz 05-27-2013 02:25 PM

Shields is allowed to have a crap game here and there

petegz28 05-27-2013 02:26 PM

Pasta Little Brioni 05-27-2013 02:35 PM

Nice hook

Rasputin 05-27-2013 02:36 PM

Cardinals have 6 hits 5 runs Royals have 10 hits 3 runs in. Quit with the singles JF.

Pasta Little Brioni 05-27-2013 02:37 PM

Waino isn't going to give you much to drive anyway

KCUnited 05-27-2013 02:37 PM

Just got home and saw the score. Good night now.

petegz28 05-27-2013 03:04 PM

It's just comedy to see French at bat anymore

chefsos 05-27-2013 03:06 PM

To those who are asking, the baseline isn't really applicable around the plate. Probably not a written rule, but an accepted one.

silver5liter 05-27-2013 03:10 PM

Lololololol

Rasputin 05-27-2013 03:40 PM

Ya that worked. Bunt for a base hit then the next batter pops fly for a double out. Nice.

DaWolf 05-27-2013 03:45 PM

Can't wait to see what we can get for Shields and Santana at the trade deadline. Royals 2018!

BlackHelicopters 05-27-2013 03:45 PM

I just got into town, didn't know the Royals even played until I drove by the K. They had 12 singles, 1 double, 0 walks and 3 runs?

My guess is going to be Wainwright is #1 in baseball with fewest walks given up.

He didn't allow a singe walk through his first 5 starts or something like that.

That doesn't have anything to do with it. The Royals never let ANYONE walk them.

As Rany pointed out:

Yes people, Wainwright had only only walked 6 all year. Shields had only walked 15 - and the Cards coaxed 5 out of him. Patience is a skill.

Literally one thing has NOTHING to do with the other. The Royals batters HATE being walked and they swing at ball 2 and ball 3 at least 90% of the time.

Wainwright hasn't pitched against the Royals all year yet he leads MLB in fewest walks by a starting pitcher but Wainwright has no control over the fact no one was walked in this game?

**** if anything he gave up 12 hits because he won't ****ing walk anyone.

gblowfish 05-27-2013 04:36 PM

The Royals are a free-swinging bunch, but they make up for it by having zero power.

Today had nothing to do with your pitcher. Literally almost any pitcher would have positive results against Fluffers Row, which Dayton ****ing Moore assembled.

GloryDayz 05-27-2013 04:40 PM

Yea I get it. Why walk a guy when worst case is a single and best case is an out.

Absolutely. It would take Scott Pioli himself to **** up an approach that would beat the Royals.

Demonpenz 05-27-2013 04:55 PM

I had crown seats today. Yadir Molina is a Hall of Fame catcher. The Cards are just a great franchise. The Royals however aren't good. All Red out there today.

Yadir molests collies.

Hope you spent all your disposable income in Jackson County. Hope there's lots of DUI checkpoints on I-70 going east tonight.

I hope the Chiefs destroy the Rams next time we play them.

BigMeatballDave 05-27-2013 05:13 PM

Same ol sorry ass Royals.

They sure had us going for a bit.

gblowfish 05-27-2013 05:22 PM

Had one ear on Channel Five. Anchor says "Royals - Cardinals in an afternoon Memorial Day Matchup. See who came out on top next..."

Really?

That's a "news tease???"

Was there, like, a doubt???

I hate Royals baseball.

GloryDayz 05-27-2013 06:36 PM

Likewise. Great seats, good game.

But WTF? The crown seats don't have anything that's inclusive? Most of those high-end seats at Busch have a fair number of all-inclusive food options - beer, hot dogs, nachos; basic stuff. At the K it's $125 for the tickets and it's still $10 for a beer.

That's pretty goddamn absurd.

Shogun 05-27-2013 07:25 PM

Thats because the Cards fans are the best fans in baseball.

The Cardinals as a whole, will go up there and hack at the first pitch if its what they were looking for but, after that most players will be patient for their pitch to come around again.

Waino just doesn't walk a lot of people. He was off his game today. The dude could end up winning the Cy Young award. I wouldn't judge your team based on a game against Waino.

Yadi is making the case daily that he is the best defensive catcher evah. I don't know if that alone gets you in the HOF. But, now he is putting together these .300+ BA seasons............he just might get in now.
