Yes, it is great that we eventually overcame the abominable sin of shackling millions of people based on their skin color alone, and it is great that we are continually granting more freedom, autonomy and dignity to more and more people who look "different from us" - "us" being the power structure.
But if you open your eyes, you will see that all we have accomplished is to take 4 million black people out of actual chains, only to replace them with the yoke of virtual chains being fitted to every one of the modern middle class and poor. We are tradling injustice for the 20% for injustice for the 99%.

And you ask me what era I liked better?
