I want wrath of the Titans and clash of the Titans remade, I love mythology. In my opinion they made these way to short.

I loved the Dungeons and Dragons cartoons.

Never mind, that's too stupid to be seriously considered.

Although if they had Creed's son fight Ivan Drago's son, I think they might have something there...

I'm pretty sure I've seen this on Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey..... :D

He'll yes, good call. Would like to see Logan's Run with relative no name actors, and not a hastily done over the top CGI piece of crap, with idiots over reacting to a green screen in a studio. With more of a Children of Men feel to it.

I think Carpenter's Prince of Darkness was a super creepy flick that might do well with a quality reboot.

Communion would be a great horror flick if redone right. The book was written in a way that just gets in your head.

Some 80's flicks like The Breakfast Club or Real Genius would be fun.

Blade Runner if done properly...

My best friend has a PhD in Physics - he loves that movie. Says it completely captures what it's like to be a graduate student. Especially the way the professor was a vile, lazy, parasitic snake taking credit for the hard work of his students.

As stated earlier....running man (which it will be tough to top Dawson's performance).

I heard a new robocop was on the way....

And I believe a remake of Logan's run is in the works as well.

I've always wanted more "coming to America"....but that's probably just me wishing for Eddie to be the old Eddie.

Someone else mentioned carpenters prince of darkness....that was an excellent story hindered by so so acting that could stand a reboot

DJJasonp 08-08-2013 11:06 AM

Also.....Clive barker's Nightbreed was an amazing book....and such a letdown film (cheesy effects). Lots of potential there with new technologies.

That falls into the category of movies I'd like to see "enhanced," sort of like what they did with the original Star Trek. Tweak the shark so that it doesn't look so fake, but leave it alone other than that.

Same thing with Tora Tora Tora. Still a great movie, just sucks that the battle scenes look like they were shot with models in a bathtub.

And for the love of God, don't have George Lucas do it.

jspchief 08-09-2013 05:49 AM

The problem with all the action movie reboot suggestions is that they will be cgi shitfests.

Hollywood for the most part still hasn't figured out that computer generated effects aren't a substitute for acting, dialogue, and plot.

yeah because the Academy has never made sentimental picks before. Eastwood's portrayal was wooden as hell. And "the kid" was bad casting and over the top bad-assedness. Like someone said--to each his own-to me it was wooden hackage. If you want to see a good performance by Eastwood, try Thunderbolt & Lightfoot....maybe one of Bridges best as well.

I'm so done with all the PG 13 CGI garbage. Whatever appeal these giant scenes of disaster and destruction had is long gone for me. It's just a bunch of noise without drama.

Really shocked they haven't. Especially with the popularity of Shark week.

Cheater5 08-11-2013 08:13 AM

If "Jaws" is remade it will be hot garbage and as forgettable as the "Total Recall" remake.

The characters and directing made that movie what it is- a classic. We have very few directors who'd do a good job with it, or who would WANT to direct a re-boot. Plus, name a cast that would out-act Scheider, Dreyfus, and Shaw? Yeah. None...unfortunately (and on a different note) today the best actors under say the age of 50, are all from the UK or
Australia. I personally don't care to see Abercrombie models overreacting to green screens, er, a CGI shark...

Leave Jaws alone. Remake "The Legend of Boggy Creek" instead.:D

And we won't until people stop pouring a $500 million into crap films. Clash of the Titans earned $493 million and Wrath of the Titans earned $305 million.

That's nearly $800 million (before DVD sales) for crap films.

Also, this year, sequels, prequels and remakes have shattered records whereas "Original" works have failed spectacularly.

Brad Bird has said recently that he might make a sequel but I think it's a longshot, at least in the next decade.

He's too busy with Tomorrowland and I can almost guarantee he'll be swamped with Star Wars.

I'd love to see a series of movies covering the other Baum Oz books, like they are doing with the Narnia books. Unfortunately, this would probably require a reboot of The Wizard of Oz to correct the vision of Oz and get a new Dorothy and I don't think that would be accepted very well. The '39 version was too beloved for that to happen (look at the gnashing of teeth that happened with Oz, the Great and Powerful, which was only a prequel not based on any of the Baum books).

I just started reading The Wizard of Oz for the first time and am shocked at how much different it is than the movie portrayal. I would have thought they would follow the book closer than that.

Did't know until listening to Carolla today that James 'Baby Doll' Dixon was part of The State writing crew and Tom Lennon did a parody of him in a couple of episodes.

James was also the lone voice telling them to stay with MTV and they instead they went to CBS and were promptly cancelled.
