There will be real QB's worth a first round pick this year.

Also, we traded away a pick 2 years ago in the draft, so that Atlanta could come up and get Julio JONES. That pick we got for him? TURNED INTO BRANDON WEEDEN. If this pick doesn't end up as Teddy Bridgewater, then its a complete and utter fail. if it does, then ill have to eat a lot of crow...... |

Good grief dude. All the shit you blasted chiefs fans here for over the past few months, you're doing here yourself. |
Only if Geno Smith is available.

And you got a first round pick for that nonetheless. He was drafted by a different regime, this one has no ties to him, nor do they have any impact on what has happened the last however long |
If the chiefs qb situation were as bad as the browns, I'd take a first round pick for Charles and he's a much better player than Richardson

I think teams will draft QBs in the 1st round because this is perceived to not be 2013, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be worth 1st round picks the way some people think they should be at. |

SNR spammed this place with Geno Smith bullshit then mocks true fans. Pathetic.

Who's said anything about a QB having to be a sure thing? Both sides of the argument love twisting the words of the other side. No one knows if ANYONE is a sure thing, bu the whole "just try until you find one" argument is stupid as shit.
I mean... are people saying they should invest an extremely high pick and millions of dollars just to say they tried? That's just stupid. Drafting someone just to draft someone is how you fail. |
I wouldn't be frustrated at all if I were a Browns fan - I'd be happy that the Colts overpaid to that degree and set up a very bright future for Cleveland.

Cam Newton would be a sexy-ass trade if they could pull it off, but then what does Carolina do? They'd just be drafting a QB just to draft one then, right? And they can't do that. So... RT? |

Trent Richardson was a player that many saw as a potent weapon. He got off to a slow start because they are starting a back up fringe nfl right tackle, at guard. They don't have a true blocking fullback, or a true blocking tight end on the roster. They also played two really good defenses to start the season in Baltimore, and Miami. Browns fans like myself can only see this as a white flag to the season. |

Adrian Peterson: Top 10 Pick
Jamaal Charles: 3rd round McCoy: 2nd round Foster: UDFA Forte: 2nd round MJD: 2nd round Doug Martin: late first Those are some of your best RBs in the game. Running backs are like linebackers--you don't need a really high pick to find a great one, and a lot of the first rounders end up being really, really overrated. |

LMAO, the team that drafted Weeden and Couch should just make sure to draft a QB in the 1st.
JFC you couldnt use a franchise with a worse QB drafting record to try to make a point. LMAO Thread fail. |

Detmer Wynn Pederson Holcomb McCown Garcia Dilfer Gradkowski Delhomme Wallace All of those guys weren't drafted by the Browns. And a bunch of them, like Holcomb, Garcia, Dilfer, and Delhomme were acquired as stop-gaps so that the franchise could "learn to win" a little bit before finding a long-term answer at QB. That list represents a mountain of a franchise failure more than it damns any one particular QB-developing strategy. |

Just like its not smart to never draft one. Don't be obtuse. Nobody here is "scared" to draft a 1st round QB, I wish posers would stop trying to sell that shit. You do have to look at where you are drafting and have a plan, you dont just do it to do it. That rule doesn't apply to anything else in life, why people think that's just fine for drafting QB's is beyond me. Its pure ignorant. |

THAT'S the language I disagree with. Post #127 just as easily shows that bringing in veterans and experienced backups is just as much of a crapshoot at righting the team's ship as it is to draft with the intent of finding your starting QB of the future. Yes, you have to take into account a team's strengths and weaknesses. Yes, you have to be comfortable with the guy you're drafting. But generally, if you're in a position to decide if you should draft a franchise QB or not in the top 10, your team doesn't have very much going for it. In Cleveland's case, there are some pieces to work with on defense. They have an offensive line. But they have no skill position players. And that's always kind of been their story. Veterans haven't turned shit around any more than their QB busts they've had. So "don't do it just to do it" doesn't always safeguard against failure. And sometimes it's possible to put your team in an even DEEPER shit hole than it's already in if your safe non-QB isn't what you expected. |
This is great news for the Browns. Now they get a RT and G in the 1st and trade a couple of 2nds to get Colt McCoy back!!!

Joe Thomas and Jake Matthews. Hell yeah.

Anyone watch the press conference?
They basically said anyone on the team is for sale. I would jizz nucleur weapons if we made a trade for a guy like Alex Mack. Albert Hudson Mack Asamoah Fisher JIMP |

"Drafting"?LMAO |
I'd give em a first and change for Gordon and Mack.
I'm sure Mack is on the block. This is the last year of his rookie deal and he has dodged the question on if he will re-sign with Cleveland. I doubt Gordon is available for trade, but he sure would fit in nicely if he is available. |
