Chen not fooling anyone yet

tk13 09-24-2013 08:23 PM

Meanwhile the Cardinals lose a no hitter with 2 outs in the 9th.

What a shame

Ceej 09-24-2013 08:25 PM

Didn't OsFan or someone else say Addison Reed was a better closer than Holland?

Their great fans also booed a guy for trying to bunt for a hit in the 6th

petegz28 09-24-2013 08:27 PM

Good swing, billay....

Royals need Texas and Tampa to lose like half of the games they have left plus we win out

siberian khatru 09-24-2013 08:29 PM

Gordon sucks

stonedstooge 09-24-2013 08:29 PM

Bruce gets out of it giving up only 1

After tonight, Tampa can only lose one more for us to catch them.

Cleveland has 87 wins, mathematically they can win 2 more

Moose still lost

Pablo 09-24-2013 08:37 PM

**** Moose.

Just swing at it again!

That'll show him!

Ceej 09-24-2013 08:37 PM

That was a major league baseball at bat.

stonedstooge 09-24-2013 08:44 PM

That's better Bruce

suzzer99 09-24-2013 08:49 PM

How many crazy last inning comebacks have Cleveland and Tampa Bay had in the last few weeks? This is ****ing ridiculous.

alnorth 09-24-2013 08:56 PM

Ouch.

Just looked up the scoreboard, TB and CLE both winning really, really hurts bad. The odds of 88 wins doing it really falls hard now, and 89 wins is now a lot less likely to get us in.

We now just about HAVE to win out, and even if we do, our odds are going to be much less than 50/50 now.

gblowfish 09-24-2013 09:03 PM

So...we're making another average pitcher look like a Cy Young winner again?

Great.....

Just Great.....

alnorth 09-24-2013 09:10 PM

I think TB and Cleveland are just going to both easily reach 90+, so it might be OK if we just lost today and got put out of our misery.

tk13 09-24-2013 09:14 PM

Texas beats Houston. Not getting any help.

Fight till the last moment. Anything can happen

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:24 PM

Obviously we want to make the playoffs. And obviously, that dream took a HUGE hit today and it was already doubtful.

But I don't care, I want to win every damned game for the rest of the season.

gblowfish 09-24-2013 09:32 PM

That ball hit Cain in a bad spot, right in the glove. WTF???

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:32 PM

Can we find a CF who can catch a basic fly ball in this series?

Nightfyre 09-24-2013 09:33 PM

Why is Chen still out there? Jesus H Christ.

Pablo 09-24-2013 09:33 PM

I'm still watching. I know the playoffs aren't happening, but I want to see how many wins this team can rack up.

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:34 PM

Now they're moving around in the bully.

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:35 PM

I always thought that if we made the playoffs, a Chen/Ventura combo would be lethal. Start Chen, then bring in Ventura. Wow, what a contrast.

stonedstooge 09-24-2013 09:36 PM

Ned waits too long

Nightfyre 09-24-2013 09:36 PM

So, +1'ing my previous post.

Pablo 09-24-2013 09:36 PM

And now I change the channel..

gblowfish 09-24-2013 09:36 PM

Thanks Cain.
Thanks Chen.
Thanks Ned.

That's a wrap.

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:36 PM

And there you go. Thanks for that catch, Cain. And nice 0-2 pitch Moyerchen.

lewdog 09-24-2013 09:36 PM

Welp, that is officially the season ole chaps.

Ned waited way too long. Not shocked he lost another one for us.

stonedstooge 09-24-2013 09:37 PM

Sure like to see Chen go 6/Ned

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:39 PM

I won't give up until the math says so, but that's a big scoop in the ground before the casket's lowered.

We'd better hope GMDM can add a bunch of punch to this lineup during the offseason so we aren't as susceptible to Ned's managing style.

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:39 PM

This isn't all on Ned, though guys...I mean Cain just dropped a routine flyball. Just flat missed it, just like Dyson did last night. The inning's over if Cain catches it.

Prison Bitch 09-24-2013 09:40 PM

Did Ned really wait too long when Chen got ahead 0-2? I mean what a meatball.

I've had enough Moose. He's just awful ad he's not getting any better.

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:41 PM

Wow, Escobar...that was a Williamsport Home Run.

After a few "hot weeks" after the ASG, he's actually getting worse at the plate and in the field.

suzzer99 09-24-2013 09:45 PM

Why are we the only team in the wildcard race thati can't win like 20 in a row over crappy opponents that have given up?

stonedstooge 09-24-2013 09:46 PM

Welp, our backs are up against the wall again Gentlemen

lewdog 09-24-2013 09:46 PM

I take back my last statement about Ned.

Our ****ing garbage hitting lost this game.

TLO 09-24-2013 09:49 PM

Well...

Cool to see Dywer pitch I guess.

And that was a nice play by Moose. I think he was out.

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 09:51 PM

I don't want to focus too much on Chicago failing to help us against Cleveland. We blew that by having a losing record to them this year. And we lost 2/3 at Houston as well. That's where we lost this thing.

stonedstooge 09-24-2013 09:52 PM

DON'T LET IT GET FURTHER AWAY FROM US NED

Prison Bitch 09-24-2013 09:54 PM

Moose drops it. What a clown

SPchief 09-24-2013 09:57 PM

That is a big ass curve from Dwyer

TLO 09-24-2013 10:00 PM

Good work to get out of that mess.

Bring on the offense! (Haha)

stonedstooge 09-24-2013 10:19 PM

Running out of outs

Mama Hip Rockets 09-24-2013 10:22 PM

Well, it's been fun, boys. Best season in a decade. Looking forward to great things next year. And hopefully a new manager.

Yep, gotta upgrade the offense next season and I'll feel like we have a solid chance to reach the post-season.

Down 4 games with 5 to play. Going to take a miracle now. Been a fun ride though.

SPchief 09-24-2013 10:40 PM

Welp, it was a pretty fun ride while it lasted. Go win the rest to finish out the season.

Titty Meat 09-24-2013 10:47 PM

Its cool to hear Denny Matthews doing road games again

CaliforniaChief 09-24-2013 11:16 PM

Credit to the Mariners' pitcher. He was good tonight. Honestly, and they'll never admit this, but they knew damned well that CLE was down in the ninth and won it. That had to be discouraging.

And our offense was just putrid, and Cain dropped a critical fly ball that led to 3 runs.

Yep. Offense was too inconsistent or non-existent ALL year. Pitching was phenomenal. Just too many games with woeful run production. I'm happy for the run we had, but not making the playoffs is not making the playoffs. I'm still fu king sick of seeing my team at home when the fun starts.

BlackHelicopters 09-25-2013 06:03 AM

Sad

007 09-25-2013 06:10 AM

4 games out 5 games to go. Not looking too promising as two teams would have to collapse while the Royals win out.

Either way, it was great having meaningful baseball in the final week of the season.

Best record in decades? Best bullpen ERA in the majors in a generation? Fire the manager!

I love sports fans who think you can fire your way to championships.

Yeah, that was a terrible and very costly error. He slowed his run and then short armed the crap out of it, and he wasn't even within 10 feet of the wall. Second night in a row our center fielder had a costly error, though Dyson's error wasn't as terrible on his part due to that ball being absolutely smashed.

Prison Bitch 09-25-2013 07:59 AM

Cain lost that game last night. No two ways about it. At least he's a good hitter. BWAHAHAHAHAAH! Just kidding, he's a total joke at the plate
