anybody catch that it's his BROTHER he's defending? the dude in the house with no lights?
I totally tripped seeing Mike and Tuco. those time jumps with no warning are a bitch. my next bull mastiff is gonna be named Tuco. TIGHT....TIGHT TIGHT! |

When is the last time a spinoff succeeded?
Frazier? |
it's been a while!
I really didn't know how they would approach this.....but if they gonna go so far back in time that Mike is manning a frigging parking garage booth then....hmm....that opens up tons of story lines. it doesn't all have to be in the present....or AFTER BB. could be interesting. |

Beyond that, the ability of the cinematography and sound to convey the mundane horror of his daily existence was absolutely excellent. He's a guy whose only stimulation in life comes from A) a fear of imminent death any time he reads an even slightly perturbed face on a stranger or B) reliving his past glory by watching tapes of his old commercials. What an awful life. |
I thought the opening was magnificent.
Not one word was said, just emotion through subtle face expressions. |
I enjoyed the premiere.
The whole schemin' and plottin' with the ginger twins was great. |
Really enjoying it so far
The Tuco thing, while cute and well done screams 'small universe' though. |
Most hilarious bit
Operating an office out of a janitorial closet in the back of an Asian nail salon. ROFL |

Can't believe how many are bitching, but call themselves BB fans. I thought the second episode was amazingly fast paced for Vince Gilligan's writing style. I think a great premise has been established; can't wait to see where they take it.

Gilligan is going by the BB playbook.
Create desperation with the main character, show him ****ing up on his first attempt at "Breaking Bad" (and nearly dying), have a scene showing the despair of the main character trying to do things the right way only to have the "Bad" solution being dangled in front of him. This is going almost exactly like the Walt storyline. |

If only Tuco's gang knew what what going to happen to them in about 10 years. LMAO
Spoiler!

Just wondering...is there some informal CP rule for using the 'Spoiler' thing?
I kinda feel like on a weekly show, if you haven't watched it by the next day it aired, you take a risk coming in here. |

That's it. Anything AFTER it's aired is fair game. For something like TWD, most courtesy spoiler anything from the comics. |

Watch Breaking Bad episode 8. It was an awesome episode from beginning to end.
Saul's introduction. LMAO He even tells Walt his real name is "McGill". |
:banghead:
Damnit, I missed it. |

Finally caught the two episodes.
I thought they were really good. Maybe better than the first two of Breaking Bad. I was sure I'd tire of Saul's schtick where he talks fast and babbles out jokes, but it was really toned down and a lot of other very good acting filled the void. Depending on where the story goes, this could be very very good. |

Holy shit that feeling at the end of every episode is exactly the feeling at the end of every BB episode. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO END NOW?!?!
|
I watched the first two episodes tonight on PSTV. Excellent show IMHO. You can see where he met his team, how he got into the game and how his personality changed.
I think this has a lot of potential. |
can't wait to see how mike goes from parking lot booth guy to private dick / stone cold killer
|
Loved the intro in Ep 1, the flash forward black & white scene. Goes back to when he told Walt he could make him disappear, or something along the lines you don't want to be a Omaha Cinnabon Manager.

Funny bit, but would Saul really keep forgetting over and over again his parking stickers?

Hilarious bit where Saul/McGill calls hima Troll...Under a Bridge...in the tone and delivery that only Saul makes loveable |
Un****ingbelievable first two episodes. Amazing beginning to the series.
All the brilliance of BB without waiting for producers to hit their stride. |

I missed the first few minutes (then again when it repeated), was Saul in jail supposed to be events from post Breaking Bad?

What I really liked structurally, was when the poop brown station wagon drove away, at first I was like 'wasn't she picking her kids up from school, then 'I don't think that's the same house.
But the pace in that scene was so frenetic I couldn't be sure I was right. Man Gilligan is getting lazy in his writing? Then 'oh shit!' They hit a different poop brown station wagon. Then the reveal of who's house it was. It's satisfying when a show maintains those inconsistencies until just the time when the implications hit home. Sorry for mistrusting you Gilligan, after the plane crash season of BB, I should have known you know story structure. |

Speculation, not spoiler. But I think Charles will get better as Jimmy descends into Saul, and there will be a big showdown between them. |
I'm really enjoying the show. I know Saul is going to end up being one of those enigmatic characters like WW where you know he's a shitbag but you can't help but root for him. I kinda hope when the show ends, it will show Saul doing something awesome about his Cinnabon situation.
|
Honestly I can't remember off the top off my head what happened to Saul at the end of BB. Did he go into the program or is he on the run? **** my memory sucks.

It's been wonderful up to this point. The only thing that vexes me is why that girl would (seemingly) have interest in him.

She's a big name, in the opening credits, Rhea Seahorn who I assume will have an ongoing role. |
Really enjoying this show. What is wrong with Saul's brother? Mental illness that makes him physically sick? Intentionally not having power on or electronics...weird

http://www.emfanalysis.com/emf-refugee/ 3rd Episode was better than the first two. Really knocking it out from the get go. |
I was really thinking that this show was going to be completely different for some reason. Just something they threw together to make it a comedy. I had no hope for it to be anything like BB. I am happily wrong.

From then on, it's more in the vein of Breaking Bad of a season arc and full meta-story building off the first season's. I say that for two reasons. The first season feels a little more conventional television. And it probably is best to start from the beginning, but ignore any queasiness you might feel until you've a good belly full of the EXCELLENT second. |

Falling skies is on prime also. Dollhouse. So there are some other thIngs you can see. You really need to get it for subscribe and save and prime shipping. id pay for that wothout the tv. |
I too am so so happy that this doesn't seem to be going towards a purely comedic tangent. I am so surprised at the "BB-ish" direction and I'm loving it.
so.....can't help but wonder....is Team Kettleman toast? the kids have now seen the money (if they hadn't before) so they may not even be spared. Nacho trying to get those duckets behind Tuco's back....oh man..... https://31.media.tumblr.com/5f446783...UHx1s7n34y.jpg |
The new episode is tonight in case anyone forgot.

Im digging the direction this show is going. Also, the Rush fan in me dug the poster plug they did during his flashback while he was in the basement with his scam partner.

Fairly predictable but still entertaining.

Holy Shit!! I forgot I even had some Herbie Mann on vinyl
Reminds me of my Spyro Gyra phase <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DJT_acVUjV4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
so...did Saul pay the guy to fall of the billboard, or was it coincidence?
