a 3rd round pick to rent Tony for 8 games?

get the **** out ...

wazu 10-29-2013 04:34 PM

The 3rd round pick is too much, but let's stop calling it a rental "for 8 games". It's a rental for the playoffs in hopes of making a Superbowl run.

Not as things stand now. However, with better o-line play and offense in general and a little luck we can. We have the defense.

TG instantly makes this offense better. We are only one or two pieces away.

Yep. That's why I'd have parted with a 4th. Like I said, makes no difference if Atlanta was firm demanding a 3rd. No way I'd do that unless it came with a guarantee that we get the pick back if we don't win the Super Bowl. :)

Mother****erJones 10-29-2013 04:37 PM

This offense will only improve if the oline improves

Spot on with this. So it's either going to happen, or it's not. We have to use the pieces at hand.

And I don't think it will enough to go to the Super Bowl. Smith would be better if he wasn't running for his life. Not saying he's great but he'd look better. He's rushing his throws

Exactly, who is better at catching shitty passes than Tony G? Years of practice but he might be a little rusty.

Touche.

Gonzalez is like Bowe, though. No separation and he uses his body to catch balls.

How is that working so far?

Who knows. All I know is I'm one of the most nostalgic (and mildly stupid) people you'll ever know. So the thought of Gonzalez getting one last shot in the playoffs as a Chief was a blinding light of nostalgia combined with the sweet nectar of a good story.

From the thread title, I didn't know if the Chiefs front office let him go or if he talked bad about McGrath's wife in the locker room. That dude is straight up scary with a shard of broken mirror.

Ok. Sake of argument let's say we went all the way to the AFCC game.

Next year we still have the same 3 TE's as now only the team chemistry is $3it because everyone knows they can be dumped for a rental or the hot trade at the moment instead of the "we're a family" atmosphere that's already been well recieved...

I guess the team chemistry is gonna be shit since we dumped Kevin Brock. Hopefully he finds a new home quickly. LET THE BOY SLEEP IN YOUR DAMN BED!

The family stuff is great, but they aren't reeruned enough to think that moves aren't gonna be made.

And Aqua Teen Beard Squad Guy puts up 100 yards and the Denver TE holds on a FG that loses the game.

And that's all that's talked about is a holding call on the TE that lost the game...

These aren't high school kids we're talking about. These are grown men that know that the NFL is a business and a team can be one play or player away from an early playoff loss or a superbowl win. If their feelings are hurt because we added a hall of fame player, then too ****ing bad.

That's good to get pressure on those two. One thing that is hurting the OL in regards to the backups and how many to carry on the 53 is Kush and the fact he isn't ready yet. I imagine they are just concerned that he wouldn't clear waivers for the PS. But as it stands carring 10 OL now is too heavy. I'd expect that to be back down to 9 and another TE brought up after the bye week or short the first couple weeks following. I guess they could drop Chad hall and keep the ol count at 10 but a third TE will be needed sooner rather than later

booger 10-30-2013 11:24 AM

good size at 6'3 270. Just by that size I would say good Hback prospect. Wonder how he is inline at the Y. A Delaine Walker type could be a good fit

booger 10-30-2013 11:27 AM

Speaking of the Hback, FB/TE tweener, wing, motion TE, what ever you want to call it....Keith Byers was one hell of a unique player at his size with excellent feet. Don't see many that compare to him since he retired

What these moves say to me is that they're acknowledging their protection and blocking issues and plan to aggressively address them during the bye week.

I've been saying for weeks that it's hard for me to believe that Rishaw Johnson is worse and has less upside than Jeff Allen. Asamoah has been awful in pass pro, so the move for Watkins seems to be an acknowledgement in that regard.

While he's only been signed to the practice squad, Jones appears to be more of a blocking tight end than a receiving threat. After multiple failures in the Red Zone (especially from the one yard line against Houston), changes must be coming.

agrred on all. I mentioned Delanie Walker because they used him and their FB Miller allong with Davis and Smith utilized all of them. I thought maybe Opurum could possibly play that kind of role if activated but this kid has good size and looks like he could do some of the things Moeaki could have in the blocking game. I think Opurum like D. Harris is just not ready yet

except more of a smaller Dustin Keller type more of a reciever. We got Fasano who is an all around TE but not a great one. Reliable when healthy. There really isn't a blocking inline TE out there they like apparently. They've worked out a bunch the last month or so. Beard man i think can become an all round TE but is overmatched blocking. Needs to keep improving and get stronger this offseason. He can continue his role as well as fill Kelce's role as a slot or split out guy being a big target who can get open. The third spot needs to be a good blocker and hopefully decent enough to catch some passes too

I would be suprised. If anyone is going to replace the chiefs starting guards this yr, than it would likely be Schwartz.

I see these moves as a prep for 2014 when Asamoah and Schwartz are free agents. Chiefs will likely allow both of them to test FA, as well as the safties (Abdullah, Demps, Lewis).

Teams don't sign players mid-season for the following offseason.

If true, this severely bums me out. I've often wondered why Stephensen wasnt at the LG or even RG position, as he can't possibly be worse than Allen or Asamoah.

If Reid isn't playing his best players because he's more concerned with the "swing" guys, it'll really harsh my mellow.
