I don't really see why what teams have done int he past have anything to do with whether the conference was upgraded for the future.

TCU and West Virginia have a combined 9 wins this season in football and basketball.

Mizzou has 11.
aTm has 11.

Noncon football and basketball in Oct/Nov, that's really what matters.

Still embarrasing, but hey they won.

Bambi 11-16-2013 03:55 PM

Based on how all of MU's opponents are performing this year it's starting to become clear why so many have been questioning their record.

Just because Kansas won its first conference game in football in four years doesn't mean you know either jack nor shit about anyone else's schedule. Stick to talking about how NCAA Tournament titles keep the world spinning 'round, and we'll sit here and enjoy being a top ten football program in all the land.

I don't know if this was mentioned in the prior thread or not, but Max Scherzer won the AL Cy Young award this year by a wide margin.

Quote:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a77.../Scherzer7.jpg

The Tigers’ Max Scherzer easily won his first American League Cy Young Award, while the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw cruised to his second NL Cy Young in three years in the Baseball Writers’ Association of America voting, the results of which were announced on Wednesday night.

Scherzer, the AL starter in the All-Star Game, went 21-3, leading the majors in wins and his league in WHIP while striking out a career high 240 batters and helping Detroit to its third straight AL Central title. He received 28 of the 30 first-place votes. Fellow Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez, the AL ERA leader, and White Sox lefty Chris Sale split the other two first place votes. Scherzer finished with 203 points overall, more than double the total of runner-up Yu Darvish of the Rangers, who had 93.
Max was the only 20 game winner in the majors this year, and also the only starting pitcher to allow less than 1 baserunner per inning. His 13 game winning streak to start the season was the best since Roger Clemens in 1986.

Baseball is also a secondary collegiate sport, but I think this is worthy of inclusion here as well.

He's saying that it isn't hilarious that KU fans stormed the field and tore down the goalpost today for just winning a game, because someone once before said they rushed the field when they did not.

It must be an old reference, because the only place KU fans at Memorial Track have been rushing for the past 4 years has been to the exits.

Kansas Snaps Big 12 Losing Streak; Fans Toss Goalpost Into Lake

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/NVUV2-_kiZQ?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The Kansas Jayhawks had lost 27 straight conference games before beating West Virginia 31-19 yesterday. After the win, fans took down a goalpost and chucked it into a lake. The video's best part is the guy proudly holding the small piece of goalpost. So content with himself.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BZORgMZCUAAzr7l.jpg

One might say, "Hey, the Jayhawks are 3-7 and beat a 4-6 team to snap that streak." Stop pissing on their parade. Let them enjoy this brief time without disappointment, before reality sets in.
