This is how I felt for a while, only with the NFL, Chiefs, and playoffs.

I think chaz ran away. I was really hoping to take him under my wing and educate him.

So what I gather from reading this MB is that Chiefs fans' take is that Elway wasn't all that good because stats prove it and Peyton isn't all that good because his stats are empty and he can't win in the playoffs.

Maybe, you guys just don't like the Broncos.

Every knowledgeable analysis of football has concluded that Elway is one of the most overrated players ever. He wasn't a bad quarterback, we know that. He was serviceable for the most part, like a Jim Everett or today's Andy Dalton. He just wasn't much more than that.

Go look at the statistics of John Elway and study up on on it a little, and then we'll talk. Here are a few articles to get you started. I would encourage you to open your mind up to the possibility that the mythology of your religion may be just that - mythology.

Compelling argument.

How would you rank your top 5 QBs of all time, Rain Man? Just out of curiosity..

My take is that Elway wasn't very good and Manning is very, very good. He's the sole reason that Denver will win the Super Bowl this year. He could carry a junior high team to a Super Bowl with the current rules.

Your conclusion about us not liking the Broncos is generally accurate, though for a brief point in time some of us might actually hate the Colts more.

Whew, that's a toughie. The current players are hard to peg right now. All time, I would go with...

1. Joe Montana. Duh.
2. Dan Marino.
3. Johnny Unitas.
4. Tom Brady.
5. Peyton Manning.

While he's no where near the top five, I have to note that Randall Cunningham may have been my favorite player to watch as a quarterback.

What's your call?

Garcia Bronco 01-06-2014 07:00 PM

I'll rooting for the Donks.

Your top is missing the GOAT

Ah, I wouldn't be able to do the list service. I was born in '89 and didn't become a die-hard fan until our '03 season.

I know you're a bit older so I figured I'd see what you thought.

Dayze 01-06-2014 07:59 PM

I think Tom is top 3.

I agree with that website Rain Man provided, and I've said it before. Aikman is vastly overrated. Good QB, but JFC

Y'know, I realized that I didn't consider Kurt Warner. He didn't get quite the publicity that Manning and Brady did, but I think he's as good or better. I might actually take a young Kurt Warner over a young Brady or Manning.

ClevelandBronco 01-06-2014 08:35 PM

I can only pick one team in this poll? Denver then.

COchief 01-06-2014 08:48 PM

Anyone but Denver by a mile.

Anyone but NE by the next mile.

I would like to see an old long suffering team like the Seahawks win one, Panthers are too new, they haven't suffered long enough in mediocrity like we have. They gotta put in some more time.

The 9ers look like a very tough out at the moment for anyone.

I really don't give a shit as long as the lowlife Broncos don't get another title, it would be the third one I would have personally suffered through in Denver and I'm not sure I could deal with their smug fans again.

Ragged Robin 01-06-2014 08:59 PM

Honestly wouldn't mind Denver winning. Who knows, maybe Peyton retires after that . Don't really care at this point but I hope to god the Patriots don't make it. Wouldn't mind Seattle or Carolina at this point either.
