I'd disagree.

Fisher is a much better athlete than Albert.

This is like arguing that Michael Jordan should be a better sumo wrestler than Joel Steed.

Fisher is long in the limbs, lanky (by OT standards,) and doesn't play with good lower body strength. His build alone plays against him when it comes to leverage.

He has no lead in his ass to hold a man off. That's as simple as I can put it.

To begin the year he was consistently bull rushed and pushed aside by average rushers...

both Stephenson and Fisher are both miles better than Richardson ever was

Fisher was pretty ugly the first half of the season. But you're correct that they are more talented. Richardson could not handle speed rushers to save his life. I'm not sure you could have fixed that. He got better at run blocking though.

Of course in Reid's offense you need guys like Fisher who are athletic and can move in space. I'd agree Fisher should've played better for a 1.1 pick, but what can you do a this point, dump him? We would not give up on players at other positions with his level of talent after only one season. He showed progress at the end of the year, although I'm not sure anyone on the OL really played well in the playoff game.

He needs to get stronger. I think everyone on the planet would agree. That's probably his biggest weakness. But he's a very athletic big guy, and when he's playing well he looks great in space.

If you're playing in someone else's offense, maybe it'd be different. But in this offense I think Fisher has the most potential.

I think he's loaded with potential.

I also think he's a 3 year project and not a guy who needs one offseason to add a few pounds...

And therein lies the problem.

This regime's moves, to date, suggest a "win now" approach, not the least of which was the move to get Alex Smith.

And now it looks we're going to rebuild the offensive line from scratch. Makes no sense at all. Smith is going to end up getting killed.

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 10m

Dolphins get Albert for $9.2 million per yr. Eugene Monroe stays in Baltimore for $7.5 million per year.

ThaVirus 03-11-2014 03:20 PM

Without knowing their cap situation, I'd say this a great move by the Dolphins.

That's not a bad contract at all.

ROFL didnt you say that last year as well?

And next year, we'll have two tackles that will be better than Albert was at LT and aren't going to have to fork over 10 million a year to watch him kill drives with dumbass penalties, let outside speed rushers work him over because he has absolutely zero kick step, see him hobble off the field four times every game and watch him flounder on the ground about every third snap after he over extends himself.

He is quite limited in terms of his technical abilities at the position and has based whatever he's shown on the field due his athletic ability for his size. However, at 30 with a reoccurring back problem, those athletic abilities become less and less impactful.

And the facts are, the guy had one good season, one mediocre season and the rest were absolute dog shit.

You don't pay 10 million a year for that unless you are absolutely desperate - much like the Dolphins are at this point.

Both Stephenson and Fisher have much better upside. Much.

I always said your Albert hatred would get you into trouble if it hadn't already.

And just look at you now.

FAIL.

Kind of the like the Chiefs' 2014 season and everything leading up to it.

Nope I said 8-9 last year which if we hadn't got lucky would have been about right. This year you think I'm wrong? Yeah look who was ahead of the curve.

Yes you were. You appear to be the only person on the ledge that I see. I'm totally content with this shitstain season. Actually at this point it's comedic.

LMAO Okay

I'm not freaking out about being shitty.

I don't latch onto and obsess over other team's players.
