I know Hosmer's been on a tear, but he's not seeing the ball at all against this guy

stonedstooge 05-06-2014 08:50 PM

QUIT MAKING EXCUSES FEVER

lewdog 05-06-2014 08:50 PM

Another night of facing a Cy Young pitcher. It's gotta be some sort of record.

Al Bundy 05-06-2014 08:51 PM

5 straight... and a lot of "I don't give a **** looks". Hey Hosmer, shit for brains this guy isn't going to throw ANY****INGTHING near the plate

Buck 05-06-2014 08:53 PM

Erlin is our worst pitcher too.

stonedstooge 05-06-2014 08:54 PM

Good inning Guthrie

SPchief 05-06-2014 08:54 PM

There's a nice quick inning

lewdog 05-06-2014 08:54 PM

10K post bitches!

This next inning is ours!

10k post mojo!

Facing the Royals is like throwing to one-armed players. They may get lucky some of the time, but mainly, your pitcher is going to look brilliant. It's how we do.

SPchief 05-06-2014 08:58 PM

I don't even know how Salvy got contact on that pitch

Great Expectations 05-06-2014 08:58 PM

This Padre team is bad, a playoff team doesn't struggle for consecutive games like this. If Shields gets a ton of credit for changing the attitude of the players and that contributed to wins what does Ned get for managing these players prior to Shields? Will they "revert" to mental midgets/"our domes are bad" type players when Shields is gone?

Should Big Game James be a player and manager?

Stop giving Ned a free pass.

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 08:59 PM

Gordon is lost.

stonedstooge 05-06-2014 08:59 PM

Hosmer and Gordon never met a pitch they didn't like

gblowfish 05-06-2014 08:59 PM

JFC, these guys are acting like they've never seen an off speed curve ball.

kcjayhawks5 05-06-2014 08:59 PM

This is pathetic

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 08:59 PM

Anything offspeed low and away will equal a swing and miss from Gordon

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:00 PM

Every batter should force this guy to throw two strikes before even taking the bat off the shoulder.

Al Bundy 05-06-2014 09:01 PM

I feel like Donald Sutherland and Alex Gordon are going to come out of that dugout soon, point and scream at the Padres Invasion Of The Body Snatchers style.

stonedstooge 05-06-2014 09:02 PM

ESKY still whacking the ball

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 09:02 PM

2 feet more to the right and we're up 1-0.

Great Expectations 05-06-2014 09:02 PM

Every pathetic "sly" lefty gives us fits. This is nothing new. We occasionally hit "fireballers" but very rarely hit the cerebral lefty.

SPchief 05-06-2014 09:03 PM

Damn, if that doesn't hit the corner, it's a run

SPchief 05-06-2014 09:03 PM

And he's safe

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 09:03 PM

Watch Guthrie knock in 2 here.

SPchief 05-06-2014 09:04 PM

Guthrie up with the bases juiced

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:04 PM

Send Billay up here, and let him whiff with the bases loaded. That would be perfect.

Great Expectations 05-06-2014 09:04 PM

Guthrie should hit a big fly.

This guy shouldn't strike anybody out, but Billlllay could certainly ground out to the shortstop.

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:05 PM

I hate National League baseball.

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 09:05 PM

He whiffed Alice and whiffed Erica twice.

But there is so much less strategy.

Great Expectations 05-06-2014 09:09 PM

Luckily the Padres suck so bad that they struggle against the cerebral righty.

lewdog 05-06-2014 09:10 PM

ROFL

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:10 PM

Ballgame.

Now stick one in Jerko's ear.

stonedstooge 05-06-2014 09:10 PM

SMOKED

SPchief 05-06-2014 09:10 PM

Stop pitching to him

Al Bundy 05-06-2014 09:11 PM

Uhh I hope that isn't ballgame.

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:11 PM

Well, sure glad we let Guthrie bat with the bases loaded, so he could come out and do that.

mr. tegu 05-06-2014 09:11 PM

Our announcers are so convinced that conditions and parks play a much bigger part in preventing home runs than they actually do.

AndChiefs 05-06-2014 09:11 PM

Game.

That's because they see so few of them.

lewdog 05-06-2014 09:12 PM

ROFL again.

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 09:12 PM

Our pitchers are premium at fielding the ball.

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:12 PM

Yep, really happy we stayed with Guthrie here....

SPchief 05-06-2014 09:12 PM

Our pitchers really need to practice throwing to 1st base

Yeah take him out in the 4th inning in a game where you need him to go deep and give the taxed bullpen a rest.

ChiTown 05-06-2014 09:13 PM

One run should be plenty against this AIDS OLYMPIC Offense.

I hate this Team

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:13 PM

Thank God we have an actual shortstop.

stonedstooge 05-06-2014 09:13 PM

OH MY ****ING GOD ESCOBAR

Wow

You can't be serious. Take out a pitcher who hasn't given up a run and pitch count at sub 50???

You aren't that dumb.

It's the 4th inning on a night after our pen pitched 6 innings.

 Escobar

Great Expectations 05-06-2014 09:14 PM

Amazing throw; how did he keep that on a string?

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 09:14 PM

It's comments like that in which I can't take some of you people serious sometimes.

lewdog 05-06-2014 09:16 PM

Might as well have Frenchy out there. Both shit at the plate but at least Frenchy has better defense and great arm.

C3HIEF3S 05-06-2014 09:17 PM

Nori you're going to have to start slapping the ball a little harder.

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:17 PM

No hell, let Guthrie pitch till his arm falls off. If we're gonna lose, he might as well give up a couple more dingers tonight so he can lead the league in home runs surrendered. If the Padres score four runs, we're toast.

petegz28 05-06-2014 09:17 PM

Fever calling it a pitcher-friendly ballpark as SD has hit 3 HR's in the last 1.5 games

Great Expectations 05-06-2014 09:17 PM

Erlin shouldn't dominate any team. His stuff isn't very good for a starting mlb pitcher.

Poor mans Jamie Moyer.

Quit trolling you almost got me.

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:18 PM

Oh, and our bullpen was very effective last night, puking up the lead not once, but twice. So I guess you're right. Doesn't matter who we trot out there, Five straight innings, no runs scored for this weak ass offense.

If they get swept in San Diego, I might have to start drinking heavily tomorrow.

Ryan is bragging about how many Royals have hit a bunch of doubles. Wooo!

He's clearly not watching. Our singles number is off the charts great so far!

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:22 PM

Well, at least Hosmer put the ball in play that time...

petegz28 05-06-2014 09:22 PM

Hosmer swinging out of his shoes again and then dogging it down the line......

gblowfish 05-06-2014 09:23 PM

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow.
Compared to this, I'm almost looking forward to it.

ChiTown 05-06-2014 09:23 PM

Cy Erlin mowing them down. JFC........

lewdog 05-06-2014 09:23 PM

It's clear our hitters don't scout a single bit against any pitcher. None of them look like they have a plan up there.

That would take personal accountability on the players part. Surely you jest?

Same.

There's this little oriental dental tech who climbs up on my chest and flosses me till I bleed. She beats the day living shit out of me. I kinda dig it.
