I really doubt it. Charles and Davis will get the major load at RB. Hard to believe Thomas was brought in to be anything else but an exact replacement for McCluster's role last year.

Looks like Hammond Jr and Harris are going to be the training camp heroes that inevitably sorely disappoint us during the preseason.

We tend to throw to our running backs quite a bit. He may as well be a slot receiver.

I mean, I hope so, but to switch from Canadian football to American football, AND switch from tackle to guard as a rookie and supplant a starter? That's a ****ing tall order.

Well, he's clearly the 4th QB right now and is getting little work in practice because of it. Makes sense that he would try to stay for a little extra.

Hope that Abbrederis doesn't blow up in the next two seasons especially if KC's wide outs completely suck in that timespan.

Good God Nantz was sucking at his commentary game early on.

He thought Bowe = McCluster.

Edit 1: Gee, that TD throw to Avery really unspooled itself halfway through the ball flight.

RunKC: You may actually have a point on Pierre Escargot-Croissant. Here's an interview he did with Montreal sports radio, and he mentioned that he's been working extra hard and being able to play both tackle and guard.

Alex Smith and Kyle Williams had a miscommunication with Smith throwing the ball short while Williams went long. Smith also overthrew Fred Williams on one sideline pass.

Sounds familiar.

Also, how regular is it for a referee to stop the clock under 2 minutes to review the spot of the ball on second down?

Chiefs’ Dee Ford ready to play in ‘Pass-Rush City’

Quote:

Chiefs first-round draft choice Dee Ford understands the legacy he’s expected to uphold as an outside linebacker.

“I think about it all the time,” Ford said of teaming with veterans Tamba Hali and Justin Houston and following in the footsteps of club career-sack leaders Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Art Still and Jared Allen.

“This is Pass-Rush City. I’m very excited. It’s going to be very fun. I can’t wait to see (Hali and Houston). I’m going to give them a big hug when I see them — all of them.”

Before the veterans report Wednesday, Ford has spent the rookie sessions refining what he learned during organized team activities and minicamp.

“I’m feeling great, getting back into the groove for when the vets come,” said Ford, who had 10 1/2 sacks last year at Auburn. “It’s really a great opportunity to get some extra reps before the vets get here. That way the transition won’t be so hard. It’s going to be faster and anytime I can catch up on some installs, it’s great.

“This is definitely a different league. This is the NFL, so practice is challenging, but you also want to challenge yourself. I had two things I wanted to work on (Tuesday) which were my leverages and a little bit of things in coverage and not really rushing the passer as much right now, just getting more savvy in coverage.”

Injury update

The Chiefs had 35 players participating in Tuesday’s practice. Rookie fullback James Baker missed his second day for personal reasons, and rookie DeRon Furr also was absent due to a back injury.

On that front we can hope for one of two things.

Either LDT can take that job and make it his own, or that Allen came away from LeCharles Bentley's OL school finally ready to pay to his potential.

It's possible, but highly unlikely.

Hudson is pretty solid and after starting at center all year last year, I wouldn't think that a positional switch is going to happen now that they have established continuity and synergy with he and Smith at QB. He graded out as our best offensive lineman numerous times last season, and considering that he was playing next to both Asamoah, who was bad, and Allen, who was also bad, that's saying something.

What's more likely is that Kush makes a viable push for the starting RG spot and would be the Center if Hudson was injured, bringing up one of the other guys to the RG position. If Kush doesn't beat out the others for the RG spot, he'll be the #1 reserve for the interior line positions.

However, it's nice to see that he's really put in the work this off-season. A 6'4" guy at 305 lbs. with that muscularity is pretty freaking impressive. He's always been a strong dude, and he's obviously taken it to the next level.

Makes up for the pussy fart we drafted at #1 overall

I really like Kush. Maybe he'll see some time at guard and get a shot? He's definitely the center of the future. Reid likes those big mauler types and Hudson is small.
