Not to these eyes.

Winston, Cardale, Mariota.

Mariota has accuracy issues which may never be rectified.

Jim Lahey 01-13-2015 02:06 PM

Mariota needs the Aaron Rodgers treatment..a year or 2 on the bench with a guy in front to groom him. He's gonna have a rough transition to the NFL if he starts day 1.

I have to disagree. Great arm, good decisions, tough to bring down. He's 6'4 230, which is really good sized for a QB and good mobility.

Despite the fact that he's only started three games, two of which were championship games that he won handily, he reminds me a lot of Big Ben during his Miami of Ohio days.

I think a QB needy teams like the Jets, Bills, Texans, Browns, Bucs and Titans have probably begun their due diligence on him. If he lasts until #18, I'd be unbelievably stoked if the Chiefs took him.

If Cardale Jones is 230 then I'm 6'6".

Jones is more like 260

he could eat himself out of the league in a heartbeat

ChiefsCountry 01-13-2015 03:54 PM

Winston would sell some tickets for the Bucs as well. The Bucs had their run when they drafted Florida guys as well.

LOL 260 isn't close to being fat for someone who is 6'5".

I haven't seen him make throws into tight windows or anticipate receivers coming open and throwing to a spot. I have seen him throw a few nice deep balls that his receivers have made great catches on and I've seen him use his feet to extend drives and plays.

You know what just screams "first round pick"?

Some shitty lineman from community college.

Eric Fisher will never live up to the spot he was drafted, but he was slotted as a first round talent by every team in the league.

Why do people act like the first round means something? When it no longer does?

Every team could draft a Seabass in round one now. It means shit.

The first round still means something because that is the round where you're supposed to have the best chance to get all-pro talent. The first round is more important than the second, second is more important than the third, etc....

Not contractually, not anymore. Pick your Seabass, sir.

So your argument is that kickers weren't drafted more in the first round because of the contractual obligations?

I'm arguing that BPA is a ****ing joke when it comes to Eric Fisher. God, this team is reeruned.

Although I am not a Mariota fan, at least the media sees the Chiefs as a "perfect fit" for a QB.

That's serious progress.

2015 NFL Mock Draft 1.0: Chargers trade Philip Rivers for No. 2 pick

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...tag=YHR6f8d662

Go big or go home. There's nothing I love more than a good trade rumor before draft season even really gets going. It makes mock drafts more interesting. Lord knows there aren't enough for you to read.

And regardless of how weird the rumor — or mock trade! — may be, it's really not as insane as the things that happen once the clock actually starts counting down. Plus, if I get these out of my system now it'll mean I will do way less stupid things when my final mock draft lands in early May.

With that in mind, you wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts. And let's do so by sending Philip Rivers and the No. 17 overall pick to the Titans in exchange for the Titans sending their No. 2 overall pick and their second-round pick to the Chargers

Just can't imagine a team giving up their future for instant gratification for a few years tops. Titans would be fools to make that move, IMO.

Chargers trade Rivers away, go up to 2
Bucs smokescreen works perfectly and they draft Mariotta #1 overall
Thandy Eggo gets stuck with Winston
Lulz ensue

I don't want Winston in SD. If he gets his off the field issues cleaned up, he has the potential to be very good.

Except the trade would likely be made with the Titans on the clock.

Most draft picks do not come with a history of not being able to stay out of trouble.

TN wants to move down in the worst way possible. The team needs to make a splash to re-energize the fan base. Right now there's nothing that defines the Titans, they are the NFL equivalent to being a JAG.

TN wants, from what's being reported down in on Nashville sports radio, is a combination of picks and players for #2 overall. Something similar to what Atlanta gave up to move up to draft Julio Jones.

If I am the Titans I would make that move.

Not sure why you're laughing, Winston is a LOT better than Mariota. We'd be going directly from Rivers to Big Ben 2.0.

Most of his "trouble" was extremely overblown. I mean, he got suspended for a game for quoting an Internet meme. Hardly a Leaf/Manziel situation. Fivehead did worse shit in college.

It's just an interlude between the yearly, "NOW WHAT THE CHIEFZ NEED TO DO, IS DRAFT THIS TACKLE AND/OR GUARD THIS YEAR" X 10000000000000000.

They tease us with a kibble like this every year, just to piss us off.
