1997 was an aberration, and they stood pat with the same team that imploded in 1998. Carl should be left with Marty... |
Dorsey stays. Dorsey can and will find a great QB.
Who will be the coach? Reid is washed-up, his time in this league is over. Move on. |

Anyone calling for Dorsey's removal is completely out their goddamned mind. I survived Carl and Peeholi. Neither of those guys put the work in that John Dorsey does.
John Dorsey is the best thing to happen to the Chiefs since 1969, the original Chiefs linebackers, and Derrick Thomas. I am a hater( with good reason ), but I am not ****ing stupid. I would encourage some of you to not be stupid as well. Once the Chiefs get their coaching and QB situation straightened out, things will be very different in KC. |

I really do not get this rationale. The Chiefs have never made any promises of success. We all voluntarily made the decision to become a fan. For most, I think, were children. I was 12. Something like that. Early 80s, anyway. Well, I suppose I could blame the Belton, Mo. police for handing out those Chiefs cards. :D |

Big Dave just pulled out the "Your choice to be a fan".......
 :D |

I grew up watching Dave Szott and John Alt and Kevin Ross, etc. I can't choose another team lol. Hell, I'm convinced the NFL is rigged and I still can't quit watching the games ;) Point is, it's been a LONG time since the Chiefs had a team that legitimately could compete for a Super Bowl. Now that we finally have the team, we have a HC and a QB that accentuate each other's deficiencies. All it would take is for Reid to realize what Smith is and what Smith ISN'T. Smith is NOT able to throw the ball 30/40 times a game, ideally. He's better than Trent Dilfer...but he's not as good as Drew Brees. Reid should hand over play calling duties to Childress - who, not coincidentally, was Reid's OC in Philly when they went to 4 straight NFC Championship games and a SB, and when Childress called plays when he won 2 straight division titles and was 1 game away from a SB as HC in MIN as well. |
I didn't have a choice, either.
Thanks Dad. Thanks Big Brother. |

The Denver game, one which everyone is pissed about the play calling in, we threw it 25 times

My son, who is almost 17, is a big Chiefs fan. He's never been to Missouri. He's spent most of his life in Ohio. And with me being a Chiefs fan, the kid was screwed. I tried to tell him when he was 10 that he can choose whatever team he wants. He then told me he likes the Chiefs because I like them. Oh, and he wants a Chiefs Jersey. :D
|
better go get him one.

He became a fan during that era? Child neglect. Seek help. |

so what you are saying is he is ready for another one then

I have never been a fan of Andy.
His play calling has always been questionable at best. However, many here are blaming Reid for Smith's lack of football IQ, and his propensity to check down. Even with an inaccurate Donavan McNabb, and weak armed QBs like Jeff Garcia and AJ Feeley, Reid never eschewed the intermediate to deep zones. All of these short passes that Smith is throwing is the result of Smith's inability to get through his progessions quickly, and his lack of confidence. |

Also, I've never seen a worse 3rd down coach/QB combo in all my years of watching football, dating all the way back to the Cowboys and Steelers of the 1970's. |

Alex doesn't have the ability to process what is happening in front of him quickly and react accordingly. That sucka has the nerve to look all butt hurt every preseason when his backups are throwing TDs to the receivers left and right. Same old recipe. Tough defense and bum QB. This dude misses big plays all game. The offense will never reach it's potential with Captain CheckDown. I know Andy and his staff see this shit on film. It really pisses me off that they will be so quick to bench ANY other position for underperformance and ignore the VERY reason that is holding this very talented team back.
|
Andy, holla at a brotha and let's watch some all 22 film. I would LOVE to hear you justify this shit. With Smith, you can win some games. With a REAL damn QB, we can dominate and win the SB handily. I mean a QB who can actually play the position and without fear. Alex Smith, I am begging you to shut me the **** up. Please!!!!! I will be FIRST in line to eat some of that crow.
INDY PLAYOFF GAME ALEX, COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I would rather see Butt Chin or Aaron Murray TBH. I believe they have more natural talent and instincts, but oh, Alex has the so-called experience. Murray looked really good. Chase can do what Alex is doing but with more natural instincts. Oh, and but Alex is taller...like Grbitch and Cassell. |
This Arrow2 guy knows what he's talking about when it comes to QBs.
|
It's sad. I am still fumed about losing to the Colts 10-7 in 95 and 14-10 to the ****ing donkeys in 97. Great defenses ruined by mediocre quarterbacks. Montana's old ass took us to the AFCC game with Fred Jones, JJ Birden, Willie Davis and Keith Cash. WTF does Alex need? 9 seconds to throw and HOF weapons at every position to succeed?
|
No need to explain things to me.
I had a moment of clarity during one of the preseason games when Daniel raped. It's obvious how much more of a natural QB Daniel is than Smith. |
Quote:
Just for the sake of conversation, don't you think that there is a reason that they have OTA's, summer camps, etc.? If they were playing favorites, Catapano and Kush would still be on this team. Hemingway as well. Guys start because they beat out the other guys. From my perspective, it looks like the coaching staff feels that Smith is better than the other QB's on the roster. He's the starter. They aren't. They had the chance to beat him out. They didn't. There you go. So what are your other alternatives? |
3-23 on third downs and STILL not TDs to WRs. That is on the QB. I don't want to hear no more shit about the line.
|
Quote:
Coaching staff is going to force it because they traded two 2nd round picks for him and are paying him a lot of money. They don't want to look bad but if they look at the film and see all of the shit he misses, they would swallow their pride and admit that we are going to fall short with this QB, as always. I want him to show me something but his vision is horrible. I want to be wrong about Smith but I can't take it any more. |

Knew I couldn't be the only one who saw Alex's blatant lack of knowledge on the field. Pretty sure this "smart" QB stems from nothing more than his willingness to throw the ball away and take sacks. |

Are you going to ****ing freak out and shoot a bunch of people? Burn your Chiefs memorabilia? Swear off watching another Chiefs game until they draft a QB in the first round? Rage quit Chiefs Planet? Make C.E. your bitch sex slave that whispers sweet nothings about Jared Goff in your ear? |

LOL!!! Watch and hope we win in spite of him, hope he miraculously grows some balls or.........dare I say it.............get a little excited if he somehow sustains an injury... In that order because I know the excuses will keep coming for him. I heard the same shit for Cassell. It's the LINE...blah...blah....He is better than Cassell but his is too mechanical. |

And for those who think I am being hard on the dude.....This is his third year in the same system with the same coaches under the great Walrus. After the Indy loss, I had high hopes for this dude but he reverted back to form and that was a major, major disappointment. I see rookies more aggressive than this dude. |

I don't know about the rest of you but I want a damn SB championship. Hell, the Royals have passed this team up. At least the Royals won't **** around with you if you are ****ing up. They were going to send ****ing Ventura down to AAA when he struggled and he was the real ace in the playoffs and WS last year and is once again, looking the guy this year.

Aaron Murray is the most talented QB on this roster. I have seen he and Daniel (Bray too) throw passes that Alex can only dream about or even have the balls to attempt.

Yet again, Kasas City has managed to not only acquire and overpay for an inept QB, they've failed to give themselves options if said inept QB plays badly by bad drafting and signing veterans with no upside. |

We won't get the chance to find out unless Smith sustains an injury so you can't factually say that but I maintain that Murray has that something to his game. **** height. Russell Wilson says hi. |

I hate to agree with the critics but that is what is STILL holding the Chiefs back. This team is so good, they still have us ranked high after that loss, knowing we have Captain Check Down. His job should be easy with all of the weapons we have. Even O'Shaughnessy looks good.
|
i'm out, here is to sticking it down the throats of anybody who thinks KC can't compete tomorrow. We are better than GB but they have the better QB.
